I believe free will is less about mundane acts (doing) than it is about being: what you choose to be within the circumstance we call "life". This ties in with Frank's statement with regard to feelings one might have (whether pleasant or otherwise) about oneself. However, what we are is expressed in our behaviors, words, thoughts, and activities (including, although not exclusively, our usual habits).

For example, I might choose to avoid acts, attitudes, habitual behaviors, or speech that I consider hypocritical or evil -- preferring instead more fair and honorable conduct. I'm motivated by whatever I can do to feel less guilty or ashamed of myself and more at peace with myself and God. In other words, to do the 'right' things as much as possible. Attitude is certainly more about being than doing.
