Predict the most stable compound
In 1 there are 8 H eligible for Hyperconjugation.In (2) only 4 hyperconjugating H are present.So 1) must be most stable.
But it isn't so.
In solution 2 is most stable.
I guessed maybe (2) is most stable because we have 2 SP2 means 120* bond angle. So internal angle in in 1 ring of 2 we get 60* each.Hence by Bayer's strain theory it is stable.Whereas in in (1) there is strain.
Am i guessing correct??
Why Hyperconjugation factor is not dominant in this case ?
Hey guys. I'm used to Chemistry Stack Exchange, but I asked this question...

Q: Lewis Structure of OF+

Joshua RonisWould the Lewis Structure for $\mathrm{OF+}$ make it so that the formal charges are as small as possible, or would it satisfy the octet rule? Thanks!

And it got downvoted...
why?
And also, does anyone know the answer? Thanks!
you must show your approach. This is not " help in my homework" site. @JoshuaRonis
Alright, will do!
Fixed it!
@ScientistOmega is the complete molecule in 1 planar
@ScientistOmega I guess you are a JEE aspirant

yupp!!
@Jasmine how will planarity help in this question??

btw both compounds are planar according to chemspider .

Q: Lewis Structure of OF+

Joshua RonisWould the Lewis Structure for OF+ be drawn so that the more electronegative atom has the more negative formal charge, or would it be drawn to satisfy the octet rule? Here are my thoughts thus far: For one, we could make the formal charge on the Oxygen +1 and the formal charge on the Fluorine ...
