Damn
My sir is asking me to take IITD Math and computing

Math and computing is actually better than cs
ML and AI
Both need math
I visited IIITD/NSIT
Both peeps told me to take comp and math

@Abcd not getting it. Cut off will be 8th rank ig
Mine is 41

What is ig

I guess
I talked to Mann yesterday
I'll be talking k/ kgp cs

@AvnishKabaj Both courses are covered in CSE.
So, I guess the required math is also covered
Also, there's nothing you cannot learn through electives at IITs.
Anyone opting for AI at IITH?

@AvnishKabaj what are you opting for?

@Groverkss What rank did you get in advanced?

7:57 AM
2042

@PolarBear ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@drake01 mpb IITD textile

8:28 AM
Can you guys help me with some choices: IIIT-H (CND/ECD/CHD/CLD), IIIT-B(iMTech), IIIT-D(CSAI, CSD, CSAM), NSUT(CSAI/IT), DTU(CoE)
or Drop
or Partial Drop

@Dante go to kanpur
Better city
@drake01 IIITD CSAI/CSAM
Or NSUT
If you're 100% sure you want to be in CS then go to IIITD otherwise NSUT

Hmm, but I read Kanpur concentrates more on studies, grades and theoretical stuff, while Kgp emphasizes more on stuff like AI and other practical stuff.
Source Quora XD
Also, like polarbear mentioned, grading system in IITk is weird.
but again, like you said, it's a better city..

Hello all I have just 5minutes to take decision
urgent help
Should I spend more than 25L for Msc in Chemistry from BITS and then get CS
Will it be cool
@Dante @AvnishKabaj help
I need to fill the form before 5 so fast

I have no idea dude...

@Dante ok
It will not be worth it seems like
Msc in a subject I have 0 interest in only for CS :/

11:40 AM
@Jasmine How was your adv. result btw?

@WilliamR.Ebenezer I have already said I didnt manage cut off in Physics and the total was also not good so :/
@WilliamR.Ebenezer where are you taking admission

@Jasmine Oh, damn. Didn't know, sorry.
most probablly in iist or iiser
or iitkgp

@WilliamR.Ebenezer thats fine
@WilliamR.Ebenezer branch

@Jasmine i'll get only geology/geophysics or chem

@WilliamR.Ebenezer rank

11:44 AM
i'll give a DepC a shot but might end up in MSc.

@WilliamR.Ebenezer you gave BITSAT

@WilliamR.Ebenezer fair enough why not going for BITS then
Like Msc and then CS

I'm not interested in being a financial liability

You are from WB you can get JU CS
But I too have little hopes
Maybe due to protest they revert

11:54 AM
@LoopBack lmao

@Dante ask her, most of them are iitians here

12:39 PM
@Jasmine I didn't give WBJEE due to Adv

4 hours later…
4:26 PM
@WilliamR.Ebenezer I have asked from a lotta seniors by now,one from IISC Bangalore even... And he said that top IISERs like IISER Pune are anyday a better choice than anything IITKGP can offer for BSc course(he is pursuing BS physics)... He yold me that the BS course in IITs is quite unstructured and doesn't receive that much importance.So he said that top IISERs should definitely be taken if u r sure about taking a pure science course(depC is ofcourse a gamble,if u wanna go for engineering)

2 hours later…
5:56 PM
@YUSUFHASAN yeah that is true in every regard. I have also heard that iitkgp course is very superficial and surface level. I am vying for DepC, but am also ready to get stuck up with chemistry. But there's the problem: I can't move to iiser after failing depc, right? Mighty big gamble.. btw so you'll take iiser over iitkgp chem?

6:42 PM
@WilliamR.Ebenezer Yes prolly.. Cuz he said this very categorically that integrated msc from iits is not even recognised much.. As for your dilemma,I am gonna give you the same advice I got from him: first,clear your head about what you really wanna pursue,pure science or engineering without worrying about college.. Now,look at your options and decide for the best college available for your preferred degree(which he said,was top iisers than iits) without leaving yourself to a chance of gambling
about depC and/or the dilemma of Bsc or BTech
