My cousin was like Roorkee will be a pain for travel 😂
And hyderabad is good enough
But i guess roorkee is far better than H
Someone guide me please :/
Counseling shit started ig

@PolarBear @EshaManideep
@AvnishKabaj@Abcd@AdvilSell@AjayMishra
Also guwhati

@Dante What is your overall rank?

Crl?*

Curious that at what rank category rank is 41 xP

8626

@Dante Because the airport/railway station is far away?
Hmmmm. You'll probably travel twice an year. Winter break for one month and summer break for 3 months.
@Dante Hyd isn't preferred because it's new but even being new it ranks right behind Guwahati in many rankings. You should talk to a student there.
Find someone online and pester them :P

4:03 AM
@PolarBear Ha. In such areas air travel is very expensive, so I'll be left with train only. Delhi ke aage 12 hrs in train my cousin said
@PolarBear Only twice? Then transport shouldn't be a problem

@Dante I mean unless there's a week or so off and you want to travel home. I don't think students usually go back home then. The long breaks are the only times, as I heard from seniors.
Again, ask whoever you might be asking this too.

Yeah, that's true. I will just not go home frequently, that solves the problem. Thanks!
@PolarBear Sure
Where are you planning to go btw?

@Dante Delhi. Probably. It's random luck ki kuchh aur achha mil jaye.

branch?
Suna hai Delhi jaane se lung cancer hota hai

@Dante Wow. There are really less people in ST. There are a lot in obc.

4:07 AM
@PolarBear Yep

@Dante CSE dual
Your branch?

Oh cool. Dual means Btech + Mtech right?
@PolarBear CSE

Yes.

Oh, k. Cool!

Good. Luck.
Good luck choosing!

4:13 AM
Thanks
Guys
I'm getting IITK/IITKGP CSE but I'm not taking them for the reasons I mentioned before.
But my family and relatives are pressurizing me to go for them.
Have I taken the right decision?

@Dante IITK was the top institute in one zamana
What reasons?
They are better than Roorkee.
Don't be lazy and do some research about what you want in an institute.

@Dante You pinged me?
Seems that was by mistake. No problem.

1 hour later…
5:23 AM
@Dante go to kanpur

5:39 AM
@Dante no you haven't

Q: In an emission spectrum, the limit of convergence at higher frequency corresponds to the first ionization energy

Manolis GustavssonThis is one of the syllabus points in the IB syllabus 12.1. We are advised to use the formula for the energy to remove one electron: $$E = hν$$ which apparently is the same as $$E_2 - E_1$$ where $E_2$ is the energy of the convergence limit and $E_1$ is the energy of the energy level where yo...

@AvnishKabaj
Survive kar paunga what?
waha*
I'm sure i can survive in a college better than what my CRL would have fetched considering I studied only for (less than actually) half amount of time others did. But kanpur's cut off was 200 last year. This surely looks out of my league.
@PolarBear the above reason ^ . That i might not be able to survive there..

7:02 AM
@AvnishKabaj Btw, you taking textile? You never mentioned you were interested in that!
@Groverkss Just read your messages above. IIITh should be best choice. It's gaining popularity very quickly and should be the first choice for CS after the old IITs

@Dante By that logic, you won't be able to survive any.
All the CSE closing ranks are in top 1k.
Nahi hi Karna hai survive toh take the best one.

By surviving I don't mean topping

@Dante I don't think anyone has interest in textile engineering
@Dante Of course -_-
You'll have to put same amount of efforts everywhere to survive.
But but but
Kanpur's grading system is harsh
It's 10 8 6 etc not 10 9 8 etc.
I'm not scaring you xD

7:19 AM
Yeah, I can understand. Tell me whatever you feel!
[I'll need many opinions for choosing college
@PolarBear That's actually harsh.
@PolarBear How do you say this?

4 mins ago, by PolarBear
All the CSE closing ranks are in top 1k.
Because this
And the way you're thinking is like someone near to those ranks.
You're very far

Kanpur's closing rank was 200. Roorkee's 500. That's just 300 difference, ok. But since 50% of IITs are reserved, there will be considerable rank differences between other category people, so, don't you think Kanpur will be way tougher than Roorkee.
@PolarBear Hmm, I can see that. But let's see what happens there.

@Dante ST is the one with such ranks. Like obc is 27% and you'll get people within 1k-2k from obc.
I think similar with SC because a lot more SCs qualified.
200 and 500 doesn't matter for college.

Q: Dropped some sulfuric acid on the pavement how to remove stain

LazikI had this car battery that flipped in my car trunk. When I got it out of there it spilled some acid on the pavement. It's a sulfuric acid battery. I added some baking soda on it and poured some more water+baking soda to make sure the acid was neutralized. However there is still a brown-rusty st...

If you are looking for surviving, you'll have to put same efforts but again if you're looking for surviving there are factors like the grading system I mentioned to maximise your cgpa at same efforts
Of course, there are many factors to consider than just surviving.

7:28 AM
Hmm.
Thanks a lot for your opinion!
That does change the way I was thinking till now.
I will have to think more about this..

Also don't fall to the I don't deserve this syndrome
I have thought a lot on that.
It's not worth thinking.

Yeah but it's tougher for me to not think about it. ST is way stronger than OBC, so I'll have to be careful.

Someone sent me this to read when I was in that phase: quora.com/Would-it-be-right-if-I-use-the-EWS-quota/answerदीपक-मेहता-Deepak-Mehta

@Dante dunno
Should be very difficult
But won't w
Make that of a diff in your "survival" if you chose kanpur or roorkee

8:17 AM
I didn't understand last 2 messages.

9:02 AM
@Dante Try differentiating them with the Newton-Leibnitz rule for understanding the last 2

1 hour later…
10:21 AM
@Dante yea going to my Institute today for session for college admissions. Teachers also telling me iiit h will be best for me.

5 hours later…
3:09 PM
I'm going to IITD
I don't like cs
End of th story
Don't want to do cs

@AvnishKabaj But placements? U urself sent the statistics..?

4:02 PM
Hello, koi mujhe please yeh batao ki counselling ke wakt first round ke baad reporting karna hota hai usme hume date milti hai kya kis din report karna hai ya 5 din mei kabhi bhi ja skte hai?

4:42 PM
I am going to IIT kgp
I like cs
I hate ee
End of story

I lost interest in EE after studying semi-conductors.

5:09 PM
@YUSUFHASAN Yeah
Still
Don't feel like going to IIITD
For me that was playing it safe
And getting out of the race
I don't even like cs

@AvnishKabaj So...You like the course structure of textile engineering?
And of course you can get out of the race...But do that for sthg u actually like IMO...And textile engineering ka course wasn't quite good frankly, unless u happened to like the Polymers chapter very much from class 12(just an indicator)
Otherwise..Up to you

5:26 PM
@AvnishKabaj What was your rank?

6:00 PM
5378
Out of the batch of 100 kids only 2 went for textile jons
Rest went to analytics, IT, consultancy

6:29 PM
@AvnishKabaj with 144 marks or more?
@Dante What's the SC ST cutoff of IIT B CSE? Why are you not joining it?

2 hours later…
