I'm off to Zambia, and the election will be over well before I return. Good luck to everyone, and congratulations/commiserations to the winner.

@D.Hutchinson yes, Fomite and Wtzsleprmft can tell you. I am afraid of retaliation. sometime conflicts are inevitable, but acadmia part tend to be more serious on this accusations.

@SSimon No, I cannot tell them, because I do not see how I misrepresented your statements (which at least is what you claim to be your problem with me), nobody else seems to see this, and you refuse to explain it. (Something similar goes for Fomite, as far as I can tell.)
08:05
I understand mine a little better - but I had to go digging. When @SSimon first posted, I didn't even recognize the username, despite him being convinced that I would be the head of an elaborate moderator vendetta. I did some digging and found what I *believe* he's taking issue with.

But I'm also going to decline to explain on @SSimon's behalf, because: 1) I'm not the one making the accusations about potential moderator/moderator-candidate impropriety, 2) I'm nigh positive my explanation will differ sufficiently from his that he won't find it satisfactory and/or it will launch a new round

@Fomite well played.

@SSimon 'Wtzsleprmft', say @Wrzlprmft, do you keep count of how often people misspell your username?
@Discretelizard No. But thanks to autocompletion, it does not happen that often.
17:29
@Wrzlprmft Well, I'm mostly asking because I think this one is pretty nice. If you'd ever wish to change your name, I think that's a good candidate. (I also think few people would notice!)
@Discretelizard Nah, if I ever change my name, it will probably to my real one.
But then people already got confused when I changed my avatar.
@Wrzlprmft Same for me. There are some sites on the network that have strong preference for 'real names'. Although I rather like this pseudonym. I'll probably do something like suffixing it with my real name or something.

Whoops, sorry for the double post. I can no longer remove it.
@Wrzlprmft I can understand that. I think that some people, after attempting to mentally store your name thought it a good idea to store your avatar instead. I can imagine some people going 'this person seems to know me... Weird name, unknown avatar. Who is this?'

A: "Hey Abbot." "C: Yes, Costello?" A: "Hey, do you think I should vote for Wtzsleprmft?" A: "Who?" C: "Wurseprmpf." A: "Wait, who?" C: "You, known, the one in the elections with the circle avatar" A:"There's none in the elections with a circle avatar, who are you talking about?" C:"Oh, he changed the avatar" A:"Who?" C: "Wzrlmpth!" A: "I have no idea who that is!" C: "How can you not know who he is, he's running for election!" A: "Oh, you're talking about whirlytrumpfd" C: "Finally!" A: No idea

@Discretelizard For me, it's always been whether to use an obvious pseudonym (like "Nat") or one that people assume to be a real name. The Pretender always seemed like a fun way to go about things.
Anywho, the mod election's getting close to winding down, and I mostly just wanted to swing by to see if there're any early signs of someone going mad with power.
19:33
@Nat I think my previous post might be an indication of madness, but I'm afraid that I have little power.
@Nat Nope, just ordinary madness ;-)
@Nat For me, I needed to be sure that people understand I'm not actually a lizard (you may say that this risk is minimal, but then again there are people thinking Hillary Clinton is a reptile in disguise. And her name has no connection to lizards!)
Fortunately, that is clarified on my profile. My knowledge of biology is limited, but I am certain that if warmblooded lizards exist, only biologists know about them. So, no sane person can possibly be confused about my name indicating class or order. :^)
