@fqq that at least makes sense, and that's how I interpret it, it just happens often that it's just $\delta S$ with nothing else

@uhoh there's finally another FDTD question that makes use of the tag you created some time ago!

Q: Reading complex potential in to CP2K

Jason M GrayIs it possible to read a complex potential into CP2K? I have generated a potential using FDTD at a given frequency, which results in a complex result. The potential is to be read in to a real time propagation method as a static background potential.

Oops, it seems it was me that created that tag, but you were the first person to ask a question about it.

@NikeDattani yay! thanks for the heads up!

Hello. If any of you know the size and the value of this $\mathbb{I}_{A}$ term in this answer please let me know. https://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/276053/trouble-with-operator-sum-representation-of-a-quantum-operation/276158
Thanks.

Hi @ACuriousMind , would this question be welcome for migration to Physics.SE? I don't think the MMSE community has people that know how to answer it:

Q: How to judge the character and sign of a dislocation?

user586228 I do understand that $ \mathbf b||\mathbf t$ for screw dislocation but I am unable to judge the sign of the dislocation. Again if $\mathbf b \perp \mathbf t$ how do I judge its sign? Any formula which explains the sign and magnitude (to some extent) will be highly appreciated. Here, $\mathbf{b}$...

hey folks! i have a question concerning the torsion, my book defines it as ${T^b}_{ac}={\Gamma^b}_{ac}-{\Gamma^b}_{ca}$ but then it uses this notation ${{T_a}^c}_b$ and I have no clue of what it means, can anyone shine some light on this?

@user153330 Have they not just raised and lowered indices on the torsion tensor?

10:29 AM
@Charlie yes, but what does mean in terms of the definition?

@schn From the "PD" in the title of the pdf and the description under the "Paper submission" part of that website I assume it's a "postdeadline paper" that was presented at the conference in some form but not included in the proceedings.
@NikeDattani No, that question would be off-topic under our homework-and-exercises policy.

I don’t know why my question is being avoided. Is it too stupid or sth?

12:44 PM
@ACuriousMind where do you think they can ask that question?

@NikeDattani I don't know
@user27286 It's just the identity operator on $A$, note that Norbert talks about "omitting identities" in his answer

1:05 PM
@ACuriousMind But Identity operator means? In my life I have never seen it. So it is like this? [1 0]?

Q: Request to reopen an old question

Alpha DeltaI am following the advice given in community wiki answer and making a request to the Physic.SE community to reopen this question. The reason I believe the question should be reopened is because it is not a homework question but more of a conceptual question. This question falls in the type 4 cate...
