Group D has Argentina, Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria(all pretty decent teams). Group F has Germany, Sweden, Mexico and South Korea(again, very difficult to tell them apart)

Group F would probably be closest to what I'd call a group of death

Sid
Well, take away Argentina and Germany. The remaining 3 teams in each group are almost evenly matched

group D is not what I'd call a group of death since the other 3 are much lower ranked
like it should be a group of all top tier teams so that 2 top tier teams must "die"
I mean you're free to use whatever definition you want
I'm only speaking for myself

@enumaris FIFA ranking doesn't really reflect the real, up to date competitive state and power of a team, For example, Spain is ranked 10 while Belgium is ranked 3 :)
Also, Portugal is ranked 4 :)
If you watched tonight's match you could see that it wasn't Portugal-Spain, but C. Ronaldo-Spain
Ronaldo 3-3 Spain :)

portugal is always C. Ronaldo lol
that's why they did so poorly in previous world cups...Ronaldo didn't really perform and Portugal just lost

Personally, I really don't care about which teams are playing in a match as long as I get to see some good moves (and it is not a boring match)

@Blue If you like good moves, you should watch the Champions League, La Liga or something. I think World Cup is more about the nations and the drama around it :)

watch Zlatan

Anonymous
@lılostafa Hehe, I do watch those sometimes

Zlatan does not dissapoint
disappoint*

9:19 PM

Dude is hilarious...and ridiculously good
but kind of a lone wolf...

The guy is a living meme

Is there a cohomological argument for why you can't have a gauge theory with a 2-form gauge field?

page a DiffGeo expert

9:34 PM
@JamalS You sure can, but it will have some peculiarities not present with 1-form gauge fields. Off the top of my head, one of the last chapters of Henneaux/Teitelboim does a 2-form "Maxwell-like" gauge theory rather explicitly.
The $C$-field of 11d SUGRA is a prominent example of a higher gauge field, but I don't understand all its subtleties, see this question of mine

Oh, now I see Stephen Hawking mentioned - his ashes were buried earlier today between Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin in Westminster Abbey
