I guess some people always fall between the cracks...although some schools are obviously more stringent than others.

Colleges and universities seem to encourage taking these sort of leaps. At least from what I've heard.

I've seen the same thing in high school. People end up hating a subject because they took an advanced course in it too soon. In particular, it seems to happen with physics.
