Paging @MarkMitchison: this is right up your alley

@Danu: Still around? Got a cool algebra exercise!

@DanielSank NB: TanMath (who just posted above) was the guy Mark Mitchison tried helping & got rather fed up with some time ago
(that is to say, TanMath was TAbraham that Mark is replying to there)

9:39 PM
@KyleKanos Ah. Well then I suppose the esteemed Mr. Mitchison may choose to ignore my little note. Mark, I totally agree with what you said in that chat message. A person needs to have the will to trying things oneself. Good on your for doing it and being persistent.

9:51 PM
@DanielSank it seems none of you understood my point of view.. Did you go through thr entire convo and see what I was asking? I understand that maybe you guys were too busy to help me.. Was I really annoying?
@KyleKanos Let me correct one thing.. he DID help... I even accepted his answer to my question on that subject...
@KyleKanos And at this moment, are you trying to say that @MarkMitchison shouldn't help me? Because, at this moment, I have gone to tons of research and asked my physics friend who is also confused about this.. Who else should I ask?
Now, I feel that I need to have a conversation who is an expert on this field.. who knows this subject well.. I want to have a chat.. I have askec many questions on ts subject and either i get an answer that isn't very useful, ir I get no answer... Anybody know why?

@TanMath Link to one of these questions?

Q: Effects of light wavelength on the Lindblad equation of the FMO complex

TanMathRecently, I have been interested in the energy transfer within the FMO complex. I was wondering, how could the wavelength of the light that excites the complex affect the energy transfer efficiency. In particular, could it affect the Coulomb couplings, or the site energies, or even the dephasing ...

@TanMath That is probably unanswered because it's very specific and complex.
@TanMath furthermore, you ask two different questions. This always discourages answers because people need to know more in order to write one.

10:29 PM
Try asking two different questions in two different posts:
1. How does dephasing rate affect diffusion in a quantum random walk?
2. How does incoming light wavelength affect the dephasing rate of photons moving around in the FMO complex?
3. How does the incoming light wavelength affect the site energies of a photon moving around in the FMO complex?
etc.

@DanielSank what abt this question:physics.stackexchange.com/questions/197761/…

I think Expert difficulty is getting too ridiculous.

and this one, i wasnt satisfied with the answer physics.stackexchange.com/questions/197730/conversion-of-units

@DanielSank To be fair though, I don't know if MM has changed his mind on the matter, just pointing out a past history between the two users

@DanielSank and finally this one physics.stackexchange.com/questions/197960/…

10:44 PM
@TanMath I don't doubt that your physics has improved some. However, that doesn't change the fact about your past with MM & others in chat here

@KyleKanos Bur i feel that telling that MM wouldnt want to answer my question isnt nice
@DanielSank so should i delete my current question and ask one of the questions you propose?

10:58 PM
@TanMath I would edit the existing one down to be more focused and post new questions as suggested.
@TanMath:

[This](http://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/197761/how-to-determine-the-collapse-operator-for-a-lindblad-equation) is good and I'll answer it if I find myself with a few hours to re-remember what I need to answer it.

[This](http://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/197730/conversion-of-units) is not well written. That, combined with the fact that it's about unit conversion *and the fact that you again ask multiple questions at once*, is probably why it doesn't have good answers. Most of the time when you are unsatisfied with existing answers it is because the question is
Guys, why do my links fail like that? @KyleKanos?
@TanMath: This is just so vague that it's hard to know how to answer it. I think I know what you're looking for, but it would help if you would give an example of what you mean. For example, you want something analogous to $U = \exp(-i H t / \hbar)$, but for Lindblad, right?

@DanielSank I am looking to find $\rho(t)$ so I guess yes..
@DanielSank why is the unit conversion question not well written?

11:23 PM
@TanMath Read it to yourself again. There are spelling mistakes, inconsistent notation, and the last sentence is a completely irrelevant distraction.

11:48 PM
@TanMath what's a "quantitt"?

user54412
@DanielSank Forced newlines (Shift+Enter) break autoformatting in chat.

@TanMath When did I say that MM wouldn't want to answer your question? I pointed out to DanielSank that MM and you have a history, that's it.

user54412
Also I'm not 100% sure pings work if you have trailing characters, like ?

@DanielSank I have edited it, where is the inconsistent notation?
@ChrisWhite yeah @DanielSank it doesnt work if there is a character aftwerwards..else it's like you are pinging a user with the username "KyleKanos?"
@KyleKanos I just felt it wasnt nice.. thats all
