@skullpatrol i saw that on twitter today
the dotted lines are wip

Prof Jim Al-Khalili is cool

1:26 PM
@skullpatrol I like how "falling apple" is its own specific thing
also we started with quantum theory apparently
that diagram is all kind of wrong

you can argue with him on twitter :P

1:42 PM
No string theory on the picture but thermodynamics is lol

@abhas_RewCie cool

io?

I just downloaded Apache OpenOffice, now I can't wait to use it!

Why is thermodynamics completely separate from quantum mechanics in this picture

can NOT!

you can argue with him on twitter :P

1:52 PM
@skullpatrol I find posting a picture here and then just telling people to go argue with the original poster on twitter a bit disingenuous
if you post something here, let people argue about it here

he's trolling

if you don't want people arguing about it, don't post it
@skullpatrol so why did you post it?

@ACuriousMind That was not a true physics picture, I guess it was a meme...

it's not even funny, it's just an image like those crackpots love to produce

@ACuriousMind Hey, check this - chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/55527296#55527296 and chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/55527300#55527300 translate from English to English is hardest here....

1:55 PM
@abhas_RewCie and what has that got to do with me?

@ACuriousMind Isn't that funny? (You sound very serious)

the joke of overusing complicated words was funny when I read it the first time, which was probably more than a decade ago :P

don't let crackpots get under your skin pal

and to think he's a FRS

2:03 PM
lmao
I know a prof, he's also FRS
Dr. M Vidyasagar
his few papers have over 5k citations :O

they made ramanujan a FRS a year before he died

@bolbteppa sir see this
They started dissing each other in the last part!
:P
@skullpatrol So you completed your B.Tech?

Q: Using chemical formulas

Gyro GearlooseUsing chemical formulas? I've tried using, now be careful: dollar-sing backslash letters "ce" opening-brace chemical-formula closing-brace dollar-sign. Unlike on chemistry, it is not working here. Did I make some mistake, is it working differently here or not supported at all?

wtf, meta just automatically converted my answer into a comment

@abhas_RewCie oh god, not the jet bundle again D:

why would you make it a policy that people should not answer in comments and then introduce a feature where short answers are automatically converted to comments?!

@ACuriousMind I remember that happening to me once.

it is to shame you for your short answer

4:52 PM
It was a short reply to a bug report on meta, confirming that the problematic changes had been rolled back. This answer was automatically converted into a comment.

Hi everyone! Is there anyone here I could request to spend some time with me to help me clear up some basic concepts about crystallography? I am super confused, and I'd like some active guidance. Full disclosure: this is exam prep, but at this point, also a nice mixture of curiosity and frustration.

Q: Reopen Request: Double Slit Question

doublefelixA few months ago, a question of mine was closed, the reason cited was that it was unfocused. It can be found here. I am still very interested in the answer, and today I found time to edit the question to improve its clarity. But according to this meta post, since my post is more than 70 days old,...

Q: Can this question be migrated, if the reason to close it was specifically being off topic and more of an engineering question?

Árpád SzendreiI have this question: Why are turbines more effective than propellers on airplanes? Unfortunately, it has been closed. The reason is off topic and specifically belonging rather to Engineering. I do not have the ability or privileges to self-migrate it, and as I understand the rules and guidelines...
