@YashasSamaga Hm, well... the thing is, is for the type of questions where a perfect answer would include a journal reference. In this case, the OP already has a journal reference. There's kind of nothing left to ask for - at least, nothing we could provide which the OP hasn't already found.
Oddly enough if the question were made less precise, e.g. "I'm looking for an old paper by P. C. Peters about different speeds of light", it might be on topic...?

@help There the liquid is considered to be a body. And the force due to other liquid particles is already taken into consideration by using the formula for pressure at a depth h from surface.

@MartianCactus Kinetic energy and potential energy are only book keeping tools which sum up to the total energy. Total energy also includes internal energy of bodies.

can someone help me undersand why i am under the impression that when taking a cross product and we use a 3 x 3 matrix to calculate determinants that the middle vector column.. or usually y.. that it counts as a negative.. am i imagining this because it doesn't seem to be consistent everywhere..

and the the derivative of the y velocity component gives a negative velocity of the x component
 
what does the derivative got to do with the force equation (called the Lorentz equation if you had electric field considered along with the magnetic field)

but it just seems that this practice doesn't apply in every case.. sometimes i would make my y direction of the determinant negative but it was wrong

i understand taking the determinant and i was aware of this practice of making the middle component a negative determinant, but i don't know why we do this and when we do this as it doesn't seem to be done in every case

Just use the product rule of differentiation. $$\frac{d}{dt}(\mathbf{u} \times \mathbf{v}) = \frac{d\mathbf{u}}{dt} \times \mathbf{v} + \mathbf{u} \times \frac{d\mathbf{v}}{dt}$$

Hi, I would like to ask for a bit of help, regarding plots of x-rays. I am not sure how on-topic it is, but I can't find any information on it. I have a wavelength-intensity plot of x-rays and I would like to "remove" the characteristic radiation from the curve. What program could I use for this?

@YashasSamaga thx. fyi wrt hyperlinking the phenomenon is known as "preferential linking" or "preferential attachment" & there are some physics-like models etc en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferential_attachment suspect/ seems likely to me that voting follows similar patterns etc; as others have pointed out it shows up on SE in the "hot network questions"...

@YashasSamaga You're fine. There's an annoying thing where an automatic block on flagging can kick in for relatively few declined flags, but generally, when in doubt, flag.
Flags aren't a game you're trying to win, they're how you help keeping the site in order.
