@Alenanno The great thing about Stack Exchange sites, you can still make a huge impact, even without being a mod.
On Stack Overflow for instance, we have the chat rooms where pros usually hang out. We use the opportunity to maintain the respective tags (at least that's how we roll for php)

Yeah... that particular question doesn't have much interest to me... but questions of romaji<->kana<->kanji in general probably should have that language tag
My logic is something like the following. "The romaji tag is appropriate, but that tag should be burninated. Romaji is (as much as it sends some learners into shock) a way of writing Japanese... so romaji questions are all, in some way, japanese language questions.... tag them as such"
