While it is true that thanks to the new "inclusion and diversity" consultant companies (that totally do that because they believe in their ethical values and not because they can achieve what is basically a legal form of shakedown racket and force companies to pay them to avoid a mass smearing campaign) even US brands aren't save anymore (just look at the "uglyfication" of many DC/Marvel characters in recent movies and games because the original designs were "too sexualized" ) Asian IP usually get far more hate.
May I remind you that even in something as praised as "Big Bang Theory" Penny character archetype was basically "dumb blonde that sleeps with everyone"?
Or do you prefer your average Sex&TheCity style show where - again - the distinctive traits of the female lead is being very debauchee and willing to entertain the watchers with the most intriguing tales about how many time they got laid and where the day before?

First, there were rumors of sexism and inappropriate behavior from the game company devs. Some referenced an interview and some translated passage, but then other sources pointed out that the translation was purposely wrong and crafted.
Yet, since you mentioned that game again... that is a pretty good example of the widely accepted reality probably being utterly wrong.
After the game was released, some discovered that some of the most fanservice outfit looked like they were "censored", after the devs promised "No censorship" in a twitter post. For example a swimsuit looked poorly edited in the chest area and made the character look like they were wearing two suits one on top the other.
Yet, for some reasons... The files on the disk contain an "unedited" version of the outfits (the game got a day one patch), the game inventory icons for the outfits match the unedited versions and not the "released" one, the game tutorials contains image of the unedited outfits etc etc.
@Peilonrayz Alas, back to the original topic... just for fun... do you ever saw the censorship Genshin got on some characters?
Mona new outfit (top left) look even more stupid. The fact that the legs are detached from the rest kinda kills the attempt at making the outfit NOT look like a swimsuit
Rosaria (bottom left) had the outfit changed so that the chest stand out less. In the process, the outfit looks more like a nun. She IS a nun, but based on how she acts you probably want her to stand out as odd. I question if the new version isn't actually worse in a way.
Amber (bottom right) stays most the same, but the edit in the chest area looks quite stupid (they airbrushed the line but keep the same dress shape) - it looks like a bad edit. At the same time they recolored the outfit decreasing contrast and made it generally worse.
It is clear that those were external meddling. It is not clear why these characters were targeted specifically.
Later they airbrushed the belly button on a character. Yet Raiden still has her chest sword, Yoimiya wears sarashi underwear, Ganyu and Shenhe share a single dress etc etc etc...

The "I'm surprised ..." was an emphatic statement to express how salacious the scene was. (If you haven't seen the scene watch the scene. The content is very salacious.)
I brought up "Hades 2 and Stellar Blade" to build common ground with you after you've seen us as enemies. I don't really want to enter into an argument with you about censorship. I have nothing to gain from arguing with someone who's probably on the same side as me.

I just pointed out that I got the impression that I am even more disillusioned than you on the topic.
You just pointed out that you feel that censorship is bad as a concept. I just added that while I think there are some extreme cases where it can be required, I also feel like the issue is that censorship is also becoming a business.
So it is no longer just "bigotry" . Now you have companies screaming for censorship only to be able to sell their services.
Also, just to clarify, the "I don't care about Stellar nor the fanservice" wasn't meant at you. I was just pointing out that I would not start a fight because a swimsuit was censored in the game mostly because I am not interested in the swimsuit in the first place.
a) I think that today censorship isn't even driven by bigotry but just by "money". It is a business before everything else
b) even if I am not one to seek the fanservice in a game, some of the "changes" I see make me seriously amused by their sheer stupidity if not actively annoyed
To put that in context, I don't care about Etna outfit in disgaea being fanservice, I would still get annoyed if they changed it after... 10 games by now?

Yet, clearly, a game like Agony and its sequel "Succubus" can exist (did any journalist even start a rant about those? I would love to know the exclusivity status, especially on the second one) (Note: If you don't know these names, stay clear. I know them only because back them I watched a trailer after thinking it was something like Devilman or Go Nagai version of the Divina Commedia)
