@Dimitrimx actually, the info is outdated (or maybe was true for trilogy sites back then). Nowadays it's 300 to nominate (exception to some popular sites like SO and Math.SE) and 150 to vote.

the remake is VIIR which may have improvements but also has the VR Addition
VII being on the switch instead of VIIR might suggest the changes are minimal so it's fine to just get the "older" version without VR
sorta like making the choice between Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk. II and Re;Birth 2. they are mostly the same game but the latter has some extra characters, dungeons and a nerfed synthesis system
the original game and Re;Birth are fundamentally different games
(don't know how V and Re;Birth 3 compare. never got around to play V)
@Derpy maybe this will give a definite answer why it's online only
because from what i have been told, there is no PvP. if there is no PvP then the online only must be just for the gatcha which can be done offline even if you want to keep macro-transactions
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines has one use DLC items on the Vita and Monster Monpiece has a an online store which is just disabled when you're offline
