Q: Is it possible to bring back people who were dead in sword art online?

Sayed Mohd AliWe know that Akihiko Kayaba is a very smart person and he never told why he created this game. But it seems like his main motive was to spread virtual reality games. And people should play them more seriously instead of faking their identity in the game. We also know that the died person in the ...

Q: Does Yuno is an elf in the first place?

KeithIn the latest episode of black clover (100), Yuno seems like he's still himself even having his body used for the reincarnation magic of the elves . Does it mean that he is an elf and his power just have awaken because of the reincarnation magic?

@Memor-X Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. The show has adorable scenes but it's of the horror genre, so it's not the kind of thing you'd want to watch for the cuteness. Even if Satoko is super cute.
Ironically, it's one of the few of the horror genre which doesn't have a sad ending. It's just everything from beginning and to the end which is sad ("and everyone died, the end" kind of thing).
@AvnishKabaj Higurashi is wonderful (cute girls doing cute things meets inescapable insanity and death. It's a mystery horror and is perhaps my favorite anime). Umineko is also very good and is by the same creators as Higurashi. Elfen Lied is a classic (violence galore, but also pretty psychological). Saikano is decent (it's basically My Life as a Teenage Robot, but with more death, destruction, and hopelessness). Paranoia Agent is a real mindfuck. Ergo Proxy is more psychological than horror.
Shinsekai Yori ("From the New World") is another extremely good show, and really brings ot light the moral ambiguity of tough situations. Madoka is considered a horror as well (it's also in my top three), but (ab)using the mahou shoujo genre, so on the surface, it looks like a light-hearted kids show. Kakurenbo is an anime movie that uses I think cell shading. I saw it a long time ago. Perfect Blue is a really weird movie, and is a psychological horror.

Mirai Nikki popularized the yandare genre and is fairly violent (make sure you get the uncensored BD version if you don't want any death scene to be blanked out). Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi is a mystery horror about an immortal detective. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 isn't really a horror per se, but it's depressing (in a good way) and has a lot of death and suffering.
Totally unrelated, but I looked through a My Anime List on the most taboo anime. It had the obvious ones like KnJ and a few random hentais, but then... Mitsudomoe? Since when was that taboo?

@forest actually i think there us a happy end to it all but it's in the last iteration because each iteration of the anime is a route from the Visual Novel

@Memor-X Yeah I know. I it's not sad in the end. But yes, it's only at the end.
I mean, Rozen Maiden had a sadder end than Higurashi, despite the former not being nearly as violent. "Let's have a quiz. What is the color of cauliflower?" "Gre- no... white?" "Correct!" *Bang*

though it is recommended to go through it all since the final route builds up from all the others

In the VN you mean? I never read the VN. I don't like the art style.

@forest yeh but also the anime too i think

2:36 AM
Yeah, the anime you need to watch it all, and in order.
It's like... 40 or 50 episodes total, with the two seasons combined?
For the questions arc (first season) and answers arc (second season).

@forest this the manga with Kirakishou or the anime with Barasuishou

The anime (with Barasuishou) was what I saw.
The manga is too disjointed. I didn't read it all.
At least the anime with Bara, it's implied that there might be a way to bring Hina back...
But both of them have a more depressing end than Higurashi, at least.

@forest i hear the manga was more creepy in regards to that

Yeah, and the 2015(?) anime which is supposedly more faithful to the manga.

2:40 AM
Doesn't anybody have an opinion on Parasyte? I can't give one since I haven't watched it, but it's the first thing that came to my mind when the question was asked.

I still consider the original anime to be cannon, because it's more popular.
Never saw it, but I've heard good things about it.

@Tonepoet i would same the "horror" factor of it is Gantz level. you have weird looking stuff and it's graphical but isn't really scary

Some anime that I've heard are good horrors but which I haven't seen: Claymore, Hellsing, Parasyte, Shiki. There are a few other horrors I watched too, but I'm forgetting them.
But by far my top recommendations would be: Shinsekai Yori, Higurashi, Madoka, Elfen Lied.
@AvnishKabaj ^

@forest don't know about Shiki but the first three i would say are moire graphical horror while things like Higurashi and Another are Atmospheric Horror

(Not necessarily in that order)
@Memor-X Another is also graphic horror, but with more suspense.
Also, pies.
Holy shit there are some good ones.

2:48 AM
@forest Oh me oh my, did he steal fourty pies? How terrible!

He doesn't want anyone to take his pie.
(The pie threads on /a/ were the best part of watching Another as it came out)

@forest You can' t hide the truth forever y'know. We've got some very good detectives working on this case:

Hey, is it just me or is Miku's hair color shifting from green to blue?

4:21 AM
I know it seems like a random question, but my mind went from pie, to pizza pie, to anime characters endorsing pizza, to hatsune and C.C. arguing about whether they should order from Domino's or Pizza Hutt, to hair color comparisons and then I realized Miku's hair isn't as green as I expected it to be.
Maybe it's the other way around?

Her hair is canonically turquoise, and is based on the Vocaloid synthesizer's color scheme.
@Tonepoet So in this case, the hair color on the right is closest to her actual hair color.

@Forest Canon and original are two different things though, and the Miku software has gone through multiple iterations, so I was hoping that somebody might remember what the earliest publications looked like.
Case in point:

@Tonepoet lol, he had the opposite colours for his body in the begining

@Memor-X Yeah, exactly. He didn't have blue overalls until Mario Bros. 3 (the sprite shows black, but the box and manual art is blue).
Well, I guess his sprite for Mario Bros. 2 uses blue overalls with a red shirt too, but the box art is still red overalls with a blue shirt for that game.

11:17 AM
@Tonepoet Turquoise is the cannon and original hair color.

@forest Thank you.

I'm pretty sure the image I linked above from the product box is the original design. There may have been other internal concept designs, but I'm not aware of any public ones.

Also, I had to do both boxes, 'cause y'know, the sprite progression image used Doki Doki Knockoff. >_>...

Also, I don't think Mario really changed all that much. He just got more detailed.
Like, you can't make Luigi look skinny in a 2x2 sprite box (I think Mario was 4 sprites?). All you can really do is make him a green Mario, as as hardware improved, more detail was added.

@forest If I recall correctly, Luigi actually had hight added to his design because the corresponding Doki Doki panic character was taller:

11:24 AM
Ah.
@Tonepoet I'd be dismayed if Mario never changed his clothes.

They didn't care so much for Peach though it seems, and oddly enough Toad's character looks more like Mario than Mario's character.
@forest Don't worry, he just hasn't changed his clothes ever since 1991. =P

I guess being a plumber and all...

@forest if it makes you feel better, he washes them in the form of swimming and they get sterilised when he is burnt

@forest Apparently he quit that job. Now he's a full time princess rescuer, when he's not a part time doctor.

Well he's certainly still good at it.
He seems a bit like a handyman now.
Plumbing comes in useful for that job.

11:32 AM
Well he was originally a carpenter in Donkey Kong. He was also the referee in Mike Tyson's Punchout, and a demolition man in Wrecking Crew.
