yes there are some Non-Yen Press items there but figured i'd pick them up too while i had the money

so aside from pre-orders i should have all current Yen Press Shoujo Ai/Yuri

yeah they removed all the roms they had. You can still browse them, but that is about it

this was my go to site for roms... every now and then i would boot up some games that i played on my consoles when i was younger

or maybe we would play mario kart 64 on the emulator because it is to cucumbersome to hook up the old consoles

@Proxy i have a large collection already but i was still using the site to get backups of some of my cartridges and ISOs that wouldn't rip

i mean roms. I know companies have copyrights on them. but for the old consoles

it was kind of nice to have the roms available to try out, since nowadays it it hard to try them without any emulation

I'm playing two concerts over the weekend, I will probably be dead at work Monday xD

So here I am browsing thinkgeek and I see this Suicide Squad and I see what is allegedly this Harley Quinn jacket:

And I'm thinking to myself it doesn't really look quite like Harley, 'cause I always think of the original outfit, with the red 'n black.

Then the first thing that comes to mind is Eirin Yagokoro from Touhou 08: Imperishable Night.

And now I'm wondering who's copying who. Eirin's outfit is actually somewhat reminiscent of Harley's in terms of the color pattern: She just wears blue instead of black, but in Suicide Squad Harley's wearing blue like Eirin, which is a very strange choice...

@Tonepoet her hair is red and blue (not black) and in the left pic it seems to be more dark blue than black

I think the right pic is from the well known cartoon where they've talked about how they saved money on animation doing a lot of black

@Hakase Probably more of an incidental savings than an intentional decision. They went for darker imagery to the extent where they used black paper for the backgrounds. I bet they got bulk discounts on that, as well as black paint. XD

Wanted to buy Final Fantasy 8 on Steam and found out it's geo-restricted

probably not though coz I think age appropriateness rating board appreciation is voluntary?

@Gao There are P.C. version hardcopies you might want to buy, if you are really sure you want F.F. VIII. Granted, it might require a little patching, but those patches should be relatively easy to find.

I keep reading these twisted and awful stories where the injustice and helplessness make me angry at the bad people somewhere out there

so many situations where those who have power abuse regular people and a lot of the time the poor folks never get their revenge or resolution

these stories are endless, you can keep finding new ones every week, and that is if you don't hunt for them in the old threads

so I keep reading them, getting this "anger boner" or something, but I also try to think of ways to utilize this obviously strong reaction like see if these stories could be used to write an interaction between fictional characters

I guess some writers have figured it out but for now, these just make me angry and I can't think of a way to make them interesting enough

that's just it, they're not interesting, they only evoke a certain angry range of emotions

somehow that seems not enough for a fictional text, but maybe it is, because it's not interesting, yet evokes a strong feeling?

it's weird and I'm not gonna attempt to write anything like that, coz I just can't

I mean I keep reading them, seeking that good rare revenge story I guess but they are very rare and most of the time the payoff is not worth the total emotion count

it's like playing a bad mobile game

maybe it's just not a good format for stories in general

after all people have different tastes and this isn't something I like

but then why do I keep reading

sometimes it's good to lock out the world and do something you enjoy

like for me that's my weekend. i still lurk here and discord but generally i just sit back, relax and watch anime or get immersed in my games

recently it's been quite satisfying playing Gravity Rush 2 and trying to get around Hekseville without using Gravity Shifting

for instance. i wanted to go from Vendecentre to Pleajeune via Endestria because there was some stuff there i wanted to check out before doing a side mission in Pleajeune. since in Gravity Rush 2 you can how touch the center Pillar and run around it i was using Lunar Style to Jump down to the underneath of Vendecentre, head to the pillar, run around to where Endestria and then try and find a way to jump back up and then repeat the process Pleajeune

i spent an hour doing it when i could have been to each place in less than a minute but it was fun trying to work out how the city was build to work out so to know where to jump from and too
