thing is it's not exactly easy to find someone who could be passionate about your own personal project and be a productive colleage in making it

idk how people manage to find such work partners

most of the "tony stark" personas I've seen have been alone for their entire career

there are very rare exceptions when 2 best friends create something cool and make a job out of it and enjoy doing it every day and it doesn't feel like work to them, just the things they love doing

like making board games or writing books

I want to find my way into such a relationship with someone

so far my friends have split away from me as we grew up and our interests diverged

and I don't think making friends of colleagues at work in IT is a good idea

tbh making your hobby as your job doesn't sound fascinating. It mean you let others told you what to create, what to do, in daily basis. You lost the sense of freedom of doing you hobby. just by saving a bunch of money to pay some artists and musicians and probably a writer to straighten out my stories and make the whole thing more interesting

and all the business advice of the for-profit game developers is messing with my head on that one

everyone says if you don't have external funds, you can't spend your own money coz it shows that nobody is interested in investing

yea you go to a home appliance store and pick the one that blows the strongest :D

basically if you want to make a game now, you should look up Unity tutorials

if you want to make a game with very specific game mechanics which are not going to be optimized for in any existing game engines, there's no point in using them really

like 2d games

in 3d games the engine does map and object culling to only draw what you can actually see

in 2d games who the fuck knows what you're supposed to see!

I mean the same logic but simplified works for 2d games in unity coz it's basically a 3d game where you draw textures on flat square 3d meshes

but what's the point in messing with Unity if you can just do that yourself with low level 2d draw calls

if you want to look at live examples I suggest the thousands of gamejam games

a lot of people make a browser game in js, all the drawing logic is already in the browser

I find it weird looking at other people's source code for the games I don't like and wouldn't play myself tho

I'm more into figuring out how to implement a specific mechanic like attract leaves, bugs, people and bullets to a strong "magnet"

and also how to turn whatever mechanics I come up with into a fun game encounter

that's more on the general game development side, not programming

coding isn't fun, playing interesting games is, so that's what I try to do

Q: Why golems and avatara in Mausoleum didn't attack lord Momon?

In chapter 12 lord Ains (Momon) tells Albedo to hand over her ring to Pandora's actor because the golems and avatara will automatically attack anyone wearing the ring. I don't understand why they didn't attack lord Ains himself and how can this improve security. 🙄
