@ton.yeung So apparently MSI doesn't play well with Linux.

I tried to put Ubuntu 16.04 on my laptop today. (I waited until 16.04 was released.) It installed without problems, but everything went to hell the moment I tried to log in.

Now I'm fucked because I'm without a Skylake box with Linux.

@ton.yeung Kind of. I put it on the hard drive rather than the SSD where Windows is.

So they really shouldn't interfere.

One of the reasons why I got the Skylake laptop was to move forward with Skylake programming. I've done that for Windows already. And I was planning to test it Linux. Fuck.

@ton.yeung I plan to compile stuff on it too. GCC on 14.04 is too old. And I have issues with manually upgrading compilers.

They do, but I can't do what I want on it.

Unless I "happen" to come across a Skylake box with Linux, I'm probably just gonna withhold the Linux version of the Skylake binary for a generation. That'll probably piss off my Linux users. But that's too bad.

I don't plan to get Kaby Lake. I might get Zen, but that doesn't help here.

Skylake-E and Cannonlake will be a given. But that's 2H 2017. And I doubt I'll be able to afford Knights Landing.

@ton.yeung does Fallout and Elder Scroll's use their editor for modeling objects? all i've ever seen is like a world editor which allows you to place objects in the world but i never really saw any tools to alter the landscape or make smaller objects like buildings or people

@ton.yeung i've used them but i've only ever gotten the editors for Morrowind and Oblivion because of some mods conflicting with vanilla quests

or maybe i'm expecting an interface similar to 3DS Max

@ton.yeung i didn't mess with them, just to confirm which mod to turn off by checking what area the mod takes up. like in Oblivion this mod for getting this mansion removed one of the slaughter fish for that quest that gets you that water breathing necklace just outside the imperial city

and the Balmora Expansion got in the way of a Vampire Clan Mod

i always wanted to make a Kantai Collection mod for Fallout New Vegas using the Mobile Vault Mod where you find Northern-hime in a pod, when you release her you can have her as a companion and you more or less raise her by sharing your resources with her (food, water, stims)

after some time she will lead you to where Wo is who explains that the Abyssal were made for the war but they refused to fight and if you can awaken all of them they'll side with you and they also become another faction that has to be dealt with for control of the Mohave.

if you let North die after so many days Wo awakens, finds North's body and seeks to destroy the humans who killed her, all the Abyssal wake up, trash the join and Wo forces you into a fight you can not win, a forced Bad End

but it would take too much time to do for something for me to just enjoy

@ToshinouKyouko no offence or anything but tomatos are kinda useless in Skyrim, basic home made potions and low level restoration spells give more health

now if Skyrim had Fallout New Vegas's Hardcore Mode it would be another thing

ofcause not like what Morrowind or Oblivion had, since they had such a great blacksmithing system in Skyrim why not allow you to repair and maintain your weapons as well.

and mod your weapons to, wouldn't you want a bow with blades on either end for increased melee damage
