also just created a batch image download driver for it and a URL scrubber for onetab. now i can open every image from the chat room in a new tab, use onetab to "bookmark" them and then use it's export function to get every url and smartly tell which is an image, which is iqdb's reverse image search and which are just websites

@Frosteeze so far the drivers are custom made for each site they support due to the fact the program operates as if it is person, mostly.

this is because generally image galleries show the main image and have a next and previous buttons and not every website is made the same

on dynasty-scans there is 13,437 chapters. chapters bring one shot doujins or chapter scanlations of series like Yuru Yuri and Yurikuma. i think Aura has alot of work to do lol.

next step is to isolate all yuri-ism and nanofate.us releases since i don't want double up and isolate Nanoha and Madoka since they get priority at the moment (maybe also stick k-on in the list, not sure). then just input them into the class and then drown in the flood of pure doki doki shoujo ai/yuri love

And I'll probably install Fiddler to make sure.

Either way, there are plenty of tools out that that not only block Telemetry, but completely remove (destroy) the binaries/DLLs that are involved.

They would need to know what apps are being whitelisted. Though if they really wanted to do that, they could probably send stuff at the kernel level to bypass everything else in the OS. I'll need a hardware network sniffer to be able to detect that. Obviously, I can't completely lock them out short of a hardware firewall. But I only need to stay sufficiently ahead.

Telemetry and updates need to be hacked regardless of what version short of Enterprise. But the things are now, I don't think even the Enterprise version can be trusted.

I can confirm that the Windows Firewall has a blacklist that prevents you from block certain sites - which include those that are used for updates and telemetry. Microsoft isn't stupid. So a 3rd party firewall is required.

You need to understand how the network card communicates with the processor.

I assume most of it is done through DMA (Direct Memory Access). You write the packet into memory. Then you tell the network card to send the message stored at X address.

All of this is controlled by the OS at the kernel level.

I was skeptical of how software firewalls can do this. And I was right.

The OS has to allow interception/redirection of network requests, because the OS (the kernel) is the one that can make these DMA requests to the network card.

Well, obviously, Microsoft controls the OS. And I'm finding multiple sources that Windows has a backdoor that allows traffic to skip any interception and go directly to the card. This includes some Windows updates and telemetry.

IOW, the only way to block the traffic is at the hardware level.

Most of the telemetry doesn't go this route. It can be intercepted and blocked via software because they use the usual network stack.

That's unfortunate. But I guess it makes sense.

I remember at Google where we had to use hardware proxies for certain types of debugging because the devices we were working on were so heavily locked down that they didn't even have a way to sniff packets via software.

Of course, now I'm a bit more familiar with how network cards work because of my new job.

It seems like the whack-a-mole game with destroying the telemetry binaries is the best solution that doesn't involve hardware.

What I'm reading so far, (just a reminder that this is off the internet and may or may not be true): Windows 10 has a content delivery network stack that is basically meant for safe streaming of DRM content in a manner that cannot be intercepted or sniffed. Fine, that makes sense. But they are using it for other things like certain update and telemetry traffic. Pretty underhanded if you ask me. lol
