my comment might be ignorant, as i havent really researched that much into my 'flaws' found with C#, they are assumed but being C and coming from MS, i just figured as much. where as java being open source, everythings freely support. thats pretty much what it all comes down to unfortunately. like i said i might be completely wrong. either way if C# is an option for me, and there are people willing to help, im not the type of person that wouldnt take advantage of a situation like that. if your serious about helping/guiding/teaching, am just as serious in the acceptance of that.

@shaggy I think you got a wrong idea about java being easier/better for various reasons than c#

at the very least it all depends on what you intend to do with it

there is a free edition of Visual Studio called Express

java may be open-source but from personal experience, only some kinds of crooks tend to use it and for work primarily

banking software is mostly in java and it's awful for a number of bad reasons
