curious, if i opened up IE, Firefox, Firefox Dev and Chrome and logged into Anime and manga would i then be able to cast 4 votes or do i need separate logins for each
@eric seems like i could just copy and paste code in the Developer Tools Console for Chrome though it'll only seem to work if i have the StackEgg open on the page
I just realized I should have made the script just load the primary script from a remote URL. Then it could have been updated without requiring any intervention from anyone but me.
As for whether I'm comfortable winning, I don't think I was ever viewing this as a network-wide game. A lot of other people are, which is presumably why people started raiding other sites. But for me, it's just a silly exercise.
@Rainbolt ... If it's 100% useless, why is there an issue using bots? This is entirely my point: the game isn't some kind of real contest that we have to prove ourselves in.
if you guys were just interested in the challenge of writing a good bot for this, you could test it, confirm that it works, and then stop and let people who want to try manually have a chance
@Runer112 Complain on meta. It sure as heck worked for this guy. That way, this chat room can stop arguing about it and the people who still care can take it to meta.
As far as I can tell, what the answer on meta.stackexchange.com/questions/252393/… says is basically "have fun in a way that doesn't hurt the ability of others to have fun on other sites". In which case, I don't see what us using bots really has to do with it at all.
No one complained when I used a bot to mine 10k extra unicoins last year.
@Runer112 i don't care about April Fools to begin with. pain in the ass in terms of news, very hard to tell what's true or not (ie. si there a new tablet that will bet Applies iPad coming out soon? are we really having a chocolate crisis). though this year it's good cause i can stufy code and Nero is the most popular artist
@runer Welcome to the Maid Café! The only rule is to be nice.Welcome back, my Master! お帰りなさいませ、ご主人様! We're now serving the Animu & Mangos with a side of Moé. Sit back and relax with general chat for anime.stackexchange.com

@Logan This suspicion probably stems from you explicitly saying you'd written a bot to restart PPCG earlier. If you're not using it now, that's fine, but it's not like it hasn't come up here...
@Geobits Well, I made like a 2-line modification of our existing bot, and tested it on a site no one was using. I didn't actually ever run it anywhere that was actively using their egg though. Certainly not PPCG or Arqade.
@Runer112 I think you're conflating two very different things. Using bots to raid another site is pretty rude. But if we use bots on our own site, it isn't harming anyone that I can tell.
@LoganM Ah, that makes sense. The conversation I saw was "someone should make a bot to raid PPCG" followed by "I already did", so you can see how that looks a bit fishy. It appears to have been deleted now.
@GiantCowFilms who said it's even bots attacking? or even us, 0-frame links blames us then Runer112 starts complining about the bots we admitted to have, so then people think we're using bots to raid. kinda unfair on the bots that people think they are going things wrong *comforts HoiHoi-san*
That's my thoughts as well. I suppose I can share my methodology though and if anyone wants to look into it further they can, but I'm not making any serious claims and the evidence I have is barely circumstantial.
If you remember on Arqade, there were 5 bots. One voted "Restart" immediately, and as soon as anything else was voted on the other 4 did as well.
The rules
If you create a tag for a sports anime (see the list below) that aired in 2005 or later, I will award you a 50-reputation bounty, provided that:

It's unlikely that coordination between 5 different people happened off-site in a short period of time. I've checked chat, and nothing shows up there. So it's very likely that most or all of the accounts are socks. That's especially true since there was no lag.
So someone has at least 4 socks on Arqade. I don't know of many people who would have that many prepared (I do on a couple sites, but probably no one else)
If you look at the recent users, most of them look like plausible socks, and their activity matches when I saw votes on Arqade.
You can extrapolate that to get a guess of who is doing it, albeit a relatively poor one. A mod over there could check much easier than I can though.
