Ugh, everyone keeps raving about Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, but I am really not that interested.
I read the first few chapters and the MC just comes off as a really bland, OP, steamroll-over-everything-to-compensate-for-your-less-than-stellar-real-life kind of character.
@LoganM She does take the whole "onii-sama" thing a bit far, but I guess if your brother is THAT perfect, you can do nothing but look up to him and want to have him as your boyfriend, even if you are blood-relatives
There's a good reason for it though. It used to be the childhood friend was the overused archetype until they realized that little sisters are even closer.
My little sis was everything BUT a brocon, lol xD Pretty much the opposite, not as bad as oreimo's Kirino, but still pretty annoyingly unreasonable :P She's cool now though, even little sisters tend to grow up when they reach 18 years old...
@ton.yeung I read something to that effect in the comments, but emotional stunting just doesn't come off as a good enough "balance" to the OP-I-can-kill-all-the-things-because-ha-ha.
I mean if that happened real life, that would be terrible.
Fanfics are basically a descending spiral of self-parody where to get any attention you have to write something which is even worse than everything else available.
Characters that I have an unreasonable dislike for: That new guy on Isshuukan Friends.
I find the love triangle to be an extremely played out and absolutely boring trope in romance manga these days. It drives me up the wall when it looks like they're about play that card.
Anyways, that's why I'm currently liking Hajiotsu and Itoshi no Karin.

Yumekuri's also nice but it's not really a romance manga. I like it because while it has all the makings of a harem manga, it distinctly doesn't go in that route and (for now) has absolutely shut down all possibilities of that happening.
It also has fanservice without coming across as perverted, which is also a nice plus.

But he said he couldn't because he already has 3 girl staying in his room (for some weird reason...
So, he's a Nice Guy™ without being one in an unnatural manner.
It's understandable that he gets jealous in the situations where it pops up, so he's relatable as a character.
@LoganM Most of the Nice Guys™ I dislike come across that way because they are just so well-meaning and "pure" that they actually come across as pod people.
