Sure, Casino Royale fueled part of it, but there was already significant increases in popularity before that, like the World Series of Poker.

@AdmBorkBork I'd say poker is probably more popular than monopoly, but it also seems more... Global? Monopoly feels like the most "US-centric" game I could think of
