@Jolenealaska If the third happens we'll probably get all 3

@Wipqozn Its high time the Elon empire crumbles

@Fredy31 I'm conflicted. On one hand, Elon failure is great. On the other hand, that's a lot of people out of work.

Yeah, that is the catch 22

From The New York Times, shared article, paywall removed.

The thing I fucking hate about all this is that... it wont change anything
he wont gain votes, he wont lose either

There are Republicans who say that a criminal conviction would be a bridge too far to vote for Trump. It could sway the election.

2:12 PM
@Jolenealaska the question is whether he will get one. All it takes is 1 MAGAt in the jury for the trial to be forfeit

It's a nail-biter, but it is in New York. There is hope.

@Jolenealaska There is speculation that if Trump does get convicted, the Republicans might decide to shove him aside and choose someone else. Someone like Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Ted Cruz, Ron Desantis,...
Out of those people, Nikki Haley feels the most likely
And there's another layer of speculation that Democrats might then also choose someone else than Biden because of his age.

2:31 PM
@Jolenealaska thanks for the link; do I refresh the page for updates? Or will it auto-refresh? Do I read up or down?

It should auto-refresh, with an arrow on the bottom for new stuff. So from top to bottom is chronological.
Nope, apparently they're putting new stuff on top. But it does update automatically at least upon refreshing the page.

yep, I see the red arrow

@Nzall That speculation is dumb, really
I might be jaded, but thinking Trump will lose the election hinges on the exit of this trial is stupid
Win or Lose it wont change shit. His supporters think its a witch hunt, his opponents wont jump ship win or lose
And I can't believe that there's loads of people that would, after about 50 other trials, change their opinion now
@Wipqozn What I find fucking funny about Rowling is that for someone that is such an anti trans/anti lgbt bitch, she did foster a great community of those people
FFS the book that made her name is literally about a teenager getting out of the closet

Potential jurors are in the courtroom, sworn in and listening to the judge

7:15 PM
> Of the 96 possible jurors brought into the room, more than 50 raised their hands to say they couldn’t be fair. They were immediately excused.
Wow, that's pretty crazy. And that's not even people who would say they can't sit for a six-week trial for other reasons.

@BradC The real problem is the ones who are craven enough to perjure themselves by saying they will be fair but actually won't be. Only need 1 of such people on the jury in order to get him off

7:33 PM
Apparently Trump fell asleep during the trial
Isn't that something that people usually get thrown into jail for? contempt of court?
apparently it isn't, you'll probably just woken up by a court staff
