@Wipqozn that Cass review was going to stir shit no matter what happened
> However, we would like to highlight and communicate two major initial concerns which have been broadly identified by many health experts and trans community organisations globally.

1. The Cass Review failed to include people of lived experience and lived expertise in the leadership and development of this review and this goes against best practice.

2. The Cass Review failed to include significant and critical research, discarding a high number of studies which show that enabling access to gender affirming healthcare is beneficial to trans young people.
from what a colleague told me, they got 53 studies and ignored 52 of them. assuming that's correct that is cherry picking at the near extreme level. the only level after that is ignoring 99% of that study for select sentences

> After Hamas launched a terrorist attack on Israeli citizens on Oct. 7, 2024, Israel responded with an assault on Gaza — a war now in its seventh month with a humanitarian disaster that is already classified as a “famine” by the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, Samantha Power.
> Then, on April 1, without admitting to it or informing the U.S. government, Israel attacked Iran’s consulate in Damascus, killing 13 people including an important figure in the Quds force, an elite part of the Republican Guards.
Wha?!
> Following the April 1 attack, Iran’s Supreme Leader made it clear that retribution would follow.

Butcher Benji: lets drop some dummy middles on the Iranian consulate as a April Fools Joke
*drop real middles*
Butcher Benji: i said Dummy Missiles
General: yeh, they're the same "Dummy Missiles" we drop on Refugee camps

> The suspected Israeli attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus on 1 April marks an unprecedented escalation by Israel against Iran in Syria.
@Memor-X had you heard about the attack on the consulate?

1:39 PM
@Jolenealaska yeh, though didn't realize the date was April 1st

I don't know how I missed it, but I didn't know about the attack. Much less that Israel was (allegedly) responsible.

could be the date if you was avoiding the internet on April Fools. i heard about it on the ABC
and aside from the history of attacks made by Israel, there's also this comment
> The Israeli military told CNN it does not comment on foreign reports. However, a military spokesperson said Israel believes the target struck was a “military building of Quds forces” — a unit of the IRGC responsible for foreign operations.

“According to our intelligence, this is no consulate and this is no embassy,” Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told CNN. “I repeat, this is no consulate and this is no embassy. This is a military building of Quds forces disguised as a civilian building in Damascus.”

Wow. I'm really losing my mind:
> There remains a “real,” “credible” and “viable” threat of Iran launching strikes, the White House said Friday, following Israel’s attack on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria last week that killed three Iranian generals.
Asked what his message to Iran is right now, the president said, “Don’t.”
Somehow 'diplomatic compound in Syria' and 'killed three generals' sounds totally different than 'Iran's Consulate in Damascus - 13 dead,' but still.
