@Memor-X Turkey is part of NATO though, so they might
 
NATO membership requires unanimous consent from all member states
Also, Russia isn't a member of NATO
In fact, that's the entire reason why Russia invaded Ukraine: Ukraine had intention to join NATO (even going as far as writing it into their constitution) and Russia didn't want even more neighbors on their country in an enemy alliance

@Elva They're still on the UN Security Council unfortunately. Grandfathered in after the fall of the Soviet Union
Although AFAIK they never did actually have a formal vote on whether Russia was permitted to take over the SU seat
