@Nzall i recall Ukraine challenging that Russia's seat there was illegitimate. never heard how that played out though

@Memor-X It's an absolute massive point of legal murkiness, because technically the USSR dissolved as an entity, and whether Russia could take over the seat of the USSR was never officially voted on by the General Assembly. The closest thing they had to a vote was that no one objected to a letter from the Russian Ambassador sent to the Secretary-General stating Russia should continue where the USSR left off.
 
yeh that's a bucket they can keep kicking down the road, it's not like Russia would think about attacking any UN countries in the future
