@MadScientist might need someone to ask questions Trump likes. lets give that ONA Reporter her 50th turn at asking questions

1:19 AM
RIP John Prine, from COVID-19 complications

1:51 AM
@TimStone :(
Neither msnbc or cnn have Wisconsin results
Is it not late enough or do they just not care

2:29 AM
has anyone been brought up on terrorism related charges yet for trying to spread COVID-19? if not i think we have our first one

3:27 AM
Me: why?
person: because it's bad medical advice
Me: but why was it on there in the first place?

3:58 AM
@Memor-X that woman in Australia you (?) posted about a couple of weeks ago for terroristic threats

@Stormblessed i don't remember that one unless your referring to this, but in this case no, it's an 18 year old in the US and it sounds like she's doing it to get attention on the internet
that last bit i am assuming going off what Philip DrFranco said about what she said about people screen recording her previous videos and saying "i don't care, make me famous"

1 hour later…
5:12 AM
@Memor-X well actually I think I meant that. This story says that a guy who intentionally coughed and wrote "COVID-19" on food containers in a Missouri dollar store is "is now in jail with a $25,000 bond for second-degree terrorist threat, a state felony in Missouri. If convicted, he may be in prison for four years and further fined for $10,000."

@Stormblessed ahhh i see. when i heard the story in the Phillip DrFranco video i posted i thought of that woman who caused 35k of produce to be dumped and remembered that she did that before it was announced that intentionally or pretending to spread COVID-19 would be considered a terrorist act. so i wasn't sure if there had been anyone else that dumb after that
but it looks like there was before this girl

They avoided another bridge drama in Italy. A bridge collapsed, but because of the quarantine measures only 2 people got injuries

Trump order encourages US to mine the moon theguardian.com/us-news/2020/apr/07/…

isn't this the plot of portal 2

> “Americans should have the right to engage in commercial exploration, recovery, and use of resources in outer space,” the order states, noting that the US had never signed a 1979 agreement known as the moon treaty. This agreement stipulates that any activities in space should conform to international law. In 2015, the US Congress passed a law explicitly allowing American companies to use resources from the moon and asteroids.
> According to Trump’s executive order, the US will object to any attempt to use international law to hinder its efforts to remove chunks of the moon or, should the opportunity arise, additional mining of Mars and “other celestial bodies”.
@Unionhawk Yes, and also like, so many damn dystopian scifi flicks
"We fucked up this planet, let's go fuck up some more!"

I mean we do have a cave johnson ass president
so it works

Cave Johnson was more charismatic

2:54 PM
@Wipqozn ?????
nooooooo
not the moon
blowing up asteroids to get stuff is fine but not the moon

asteroid mining as an answer to "you can't have unlimited growth with limited resources" is also imaginary but it's at least slightly less imaginary than mining the moon

3:11 PM
listening to the news and i can hear the "We're No. 1" chant when it reports how the US had had the deadliest day of any country during the pandemic
over 1900 in one day from what the news is saying

2 days ago, by Tim Stone
Hmm lot of talk about whether Bernie should stay in or drop out but if I were Bernie Sanders I would simply make my coronavirus mask a realistic Biden costume and take his place after locking him up with four years' supply of ice cream

His Twitter says he’s going to announce something at 11:45 EST
So I guess he’s not quite out yet

Biden vs Trump then

I do think he should have dropped out a few days when Wisconsin had not tried delay the primary yet but eh

3:39 PM
I'm unable to get a sample ballot but typically there's more on the primary ballot than nominee for president
Improve your address matching on the sample ballot website, wisconsin board of elections

Tim
tears

@Unionhawk oh yeah I forgot, some Supreme Court races and smaller other elections were there

I'm just saying "if we crowned Joe Biden a week ago then the primary would have been cancelled!" is literally a false statement. Let's perhaps not pin this on a campaign that hasn't even been doing GOTV
good luck joe you're going to need it

Tim
💔
😢

3:58 PM
The one positive thing I can say about Biden is that if elected he might bring on competent advisors
Other than that I don't think he's any more mentally there than Trump

god hang on let me find the one thing some new york times guy posted
here we go
some absolutely incredible suggestions from our good friend Thomas Friedman
> for Treasury secretary, Mike Bloomberg; health and human services secretary, Bill Gates;
nodding
> Attorney general, Merrick Garland;
lol
> secretary of state, Mitt Romney;
> Secretary of national infrastructure rebuild, a new cabinet post, Walmart C.E.O. Doug McMillon; commerce secretary, former American Express C.E.O. Ken Chenault;

how do I get paid 6 figures to come up with stuff like this

Are these actual predictions?

No this is Tom's dream unity cabinet
I mean some of these seem plausible, maybe, but it mostly seems like "guys I heard about in the news"

4:07 PM
Would AOC make a credible member of cabinet?

like JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has been floated for Treasury, anything is possible

4:33 PM
i'm not sure if AOC is eligible for cabinet posts in the line of presidential succession if she's not old enough to be president

4:44 PM
@GodEmperorDune Succession would just skip over her in that unlikely scenario. But she's pretty influential in congress where she is already; not sure we'd want her moved

I mean it's a moot point really, we'll never know what a biden cabinet will look like

@Unionhawk have you looked at the polls though?

@Unionhawk Why, you think Trump will win? Or that he'll cancel the election?

I'm certain trump will win

He’s up in PA, MI (and NC and AZ by a little)
@Unionhawk but why?
The data shows a clear path and the strategists remember the mistakes of 2016

4:50 PM
They clearly don't

And Twitter is not representative of real electorate
FL and WI are very competitive
Wtf is ww2?
RCP has versions of pages on ww6 URLs too

@Unionhawk well, I hope you're wrong.

I do too but I won't be

@Unionhawk if you hope Trump loses please please please vote for Biden. Remember that having a mediocre insurance policy is far better than having no ACA, which Trump/friends are currently trying to do in the courts
and some climate plan is better than trying to burn all of the coal

He's going to have to do better than "hey it's better than nothing" to reverse the course on inevitably losing
Nothing to do with me, I'll grab an absentee
But "better than nothing" didn't work last time
I have no reason to expect that it will work this time

Tim
5:36 PM
Ohio is a swing state though, or is it?
It is tough for you @Unionhawk

I mean R+8 in 2016, R+4 in 2018 for governor, we'll see

Tim
In blue states, many will vote for Green, to increase their influence
In swing and red states, more realistic is to turn them less red
Chomsky in 2016 asked voters to hold their nose to vote for less evil

Yeah, I suspect Biden will result in 4 more years of Trump
Which is just downright embarrassing

We started with like, 20 people and this is the guy
this is your king

5:51 PM
They'll just talk about his Ukrainian shady dealings, aka Trump will basically use the impeachment as a way to make himself look good and win.

Tim
Green party offered their nomination to Bernie last week.
Bernie turned it down in 2016, and won't take it this time either
It is both sad and understandable
Green party can't win given the current political mindsets
@Unionhawk I am sorry, I forgot DSA
I guess Green and DSA have a lot of cross-overs

eh

Tim
Bernie will remain on the ballots for the remaining states, and asked his supporters to vote for him, so that he can collect more delegates to gain more negotiation power with the party's establishment

6:07 PM
@Tim Obama win with a little over 50% on 2012, so it is sort of a swing state because that wasn’t so long ago

since 2000, R+3, R+2, D+5, D+3, R+8

Whee

6:22 PM
ohio gubenatorial elections since 1998: R+6, R+19, D+24 (Taft was the least popular Ohio governor in history by the end in 2006), R+2, R+30, R+4
I think the +30 is probably Kasich being one of the most popular Ohio governors in history

7:30 PM
@TimStone Social Darwanism Competition in action?

7:40 PM
@TimStone Of course this is a thing

8:07 PM
@Wipqozn That's my concern. That the only thing that could have beaten Trump's rabid followers was something truly different, that mobilized people
Biden would be slightly saner than Trump, but at his core he's just more of the same
I'll still vote for him, but now I'm just voting for Not Trump

My major concern is Bernie supporters fleeing to a third party

Ugh, yeah

2 hours later…
10:51 PM
looking at the tl when will joe biden denounce th-- I am physically removed from the tl

@Unionhawk what’s the tl?

the timeline, twitter etc

Denounce the what?

11:20 PM
There's a bunch of people taking victory laps like "lololololol briannah joy gray is unemployed now"

11:44 PM
who is that?
