@TimStone and yet it'll be other people suffering the consequences

@Unionhawk Briahna joy gray is very eloquent and upbeat

1:43 PM
Good thing Americans' health care isn't tied to their employment or anything, that would be a disast.... (holds finger to earpiece)...
> With a startling 6.6 million people seeking jobless benefits last week, the United States has reached a grim landmark: More than one in 10 workers have lost their jobs in just the past three weeks to the coronavirus outbreak.

2:32 PM
Far-right groups across North America are seeking to take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic by "weaponizing the virus" and spreading disinformation, according to researchers who monitor the groups closely. cbc.ca/news/technology/…
I, for one, am shocked. SHOCKED!
Trump threatens to pull back funding from WHO over agency’s coronavirus response globalnews.ca/news/6791403/trump-who-funding-coronavirus

@Wipqozn I was going to ask what specific issues he had with WHO's response, but knowing him, the answer is probably "it criticized my actions"
he's so f'ing predictable in that sense.

I think that she is fine, but even though all the pundit articles say that Kamala Harris should be the VP I still think that she would not help get votes nearly as much in the general as some other options

@BradC That's exactly what it is, actually.

it should be someone from a swing state like (maybe in the Midwest) or someone who would make more liberal people more interested like Warren

> He also criticized the organization as being “very China-centric” for denouncing his Jan. 31 travel ban, which saw foreign nationals who had travelled to China within the last 14 days barred from entering the U.S.
But like the US is having one of the worst outbreaks, so obviously your china ban didn't work.

2:42 PM
I know I'm biased because I think Warren should be president but if it is really close getting more turnout from very liberals will matter in multiple states, unlike a midwest person just potentially helping in a few

3:33 PM
I would be very genuinely surprised if Warren got VP or even cabinet
Less so for the second but still
I guess we'll probably see pretty soon

@Unionhawk I think she'd make a great VP. There are some complications with her Senate seat, though.

@BradC governor of MA is extremely moderate though

she would I just would be surprised if it actually happened

@Stormblessed yeah, there are ways around allowing the MA governor to appoint someone to fill her position
Namely, if she resigns her position by (not sure the date), then her seat would be on the fall ballot

@BradC hopefully it is not like the system in Arizona where the governor appointee is there for so long

A: In Massachusetts, if a US Senator resigns midterm, how is their replacement selected?

James KThe "official" rule is [A special election] 145-160 days after vacancy occurs. If a vacancy occurs after April 10 but on or before the 70th day before the regular state primary, the office shall appear on the regular state primary ballot. If a vacancy occurs after that time, the office shall ...

Election would be ~5 months after resigning

3:45 PM
@Unionhawk Bernie would make her the treasury secretary, but I doubt Biden would consider her.

Ready for a 4,000 delegate zoom call in August?

@MBraedley yeah I think that's right

Can't have a pandemic if you stop testing taps head

@TimStone "Good news everyone! No new cases today! (because we stopped testing...)"

5:16 PM
(PEI is too small and has too few cases to effectively chart)
Also, don't look at the chart for all of the US unless you want to become depressed.
And for some background on that chart, take a look at this:

What happened to that court case where the judge was reviewing the full mueller report?
Still going on?

@Stormblessed think so, yes. Last I heard was that he was, in fact, reviewing it "in camera"

> "However, in light of the Chief Judge Howell’s March 16, 2020 Order Regard Court Operations in Exigent Circumstances Created by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Court’s review of the unredacted version of the Mueller Report is unable to occur until the Court resumes its normal operations on April 20, 2020, unless the Court’s normal operations are further suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
<disappointment />

> Speaking to reporters, Fauci said that he was “cautiously optimistic” that his inspector-general analogy would finally spur Trump to action, but added, “Jared could still screw this up.”
like all good satire, this is uncomfortably plausible

1 hour later…
10:23 PM
> Cuomo, on WAMC, says there are "downsides" to voting by mail: "It's a harder system to administer, and obviously it's a harder system to police writ large. People showing up, people actually showing ID, is still the easiest system to assure total integrity."
(new york requires no ID to vote)

@BradC there is reason to not being happy with the WHO as they have been praising China (well, the Chinese Government) despite the cover up of the virus in the first place and it's something that needs to be talked about, however we also know that Trump has more personal reasons
@Wipqozn like this, it's one thing if he was threatening to pull funding because the WHO is not condemning the Chinese Government of the coverup but for Trump, it's all about him
@MBraedley i saw that graph, i din't trust the Chinese sharp drop like that
South Korea i am curious but i would find it more believable
