@TimStone how do they get this stuff done so quickly?

@GodEmperorDune by having a non-corrupt government that actually cares about people and not their own bank accounts?

@Kevin hush now it can't be that easy, can it?

user15026
@TimStone America! Learn from example please.

Our young hero has spoken “don’t egg a politician, you’ll tackled by 30 bogans at the same time, I learnt the hard way. Fuck” 😂 we Stan #Eggboy Will Connolly, nonetheless 🙌🏾 https://t.co/nAUDuKSMP0

As we sift thru the #FordGovt education cuts announced today, we are unearthing even more concerning changes. For example: high school students will now be required to take 4 of their mandatory courses ONLINE. #OntEd #onpoli #DavenportTO

user15026
Dear rich city people STOP MAKING EVERYTHING ITNERNET BASED

user15026
You are LITERALLY going to be putting rural and poor studnents at a disavantage

user15026
and I know that's your point but damn it

3:49 PM
On top of bigger class sizes, we are now estimating at least 10,000 fewer educators in our schools. That’s 10,000 fewer adults. 10,000 fewer opportunities for one on one support for students. 10,000 missed opportunities. Massive failure #OntEd #onpoli @LisaThompsonMPP

user15026
@Wipqozn Yeaaaah, they're screwing us hardcore

4:10 PM
@Ash wtaf

user15026
Well, I guess since they're tossing teachers out hte window and making class sizes bigger and all that, I'm betting they've realized that they can't possibly actually TEACH all these kids so we will throw them to the wilds of the internet, that will be better. :/

I just don't see this working well even from a budget perspective 🤔
There's a lot going on in the world, I know. But can we just take a moment to acknowledge how utterly nuts it is that the 33 year old lead witness in a trial against Silvio Berlusconi died under mysterious circumstances amidst signs that she was poisoned? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47595320
That is a little nuts!

@Ash It happens everywhere though. Every country has a chronic lack of teachers

On the recent non-binding vote (420-0) in Congress about releasing the Mueller Report, I told leadership to let all Republicans vote for transparency. Makes us all look good and doesn’t matter. Play along with the game!

And it's not just because schools are saving money, it's simply because there's a lack of people willing to become teachers

4:21 PM
lmao
Lindsey Graham just tanked this in the Senate and Trump's here railroading him doing so, effectively

@Nzall have you considered that these two things are connected
e.g. the turnover rate of denver schools

user15026
@Nzall well, yes, but they're intentionally CUTTING the ones we have!

user15026
@Nzall I'm not entirely convinced that's the whole case though - what's stopping them from being willing?

user15026
Like I feel like you're kinda dismissing the very real harm that Ford et. al are doing here

@Ash From what I've heard, it's mostly due to pay being low and hours being long (especially when including the out of class hours, which aren't paid but needed for things like grading and class prep), and also because helicopter parenting and other ways parents are getting more and more demanding of teachers. Teaching more and more becomes a vocation for the passionate, to the point that a lot of teachers drop out during teacher school or after a couple of years of teaching
In fact, in Belgium, they're actually putting people who are still in teacher school in front of classes because they can't find enough graduated teachers to fill the gaps

user15026
4:31 PM
Which is all well and good, but slashing budgets and increasing class sizes etc isn't going to make any of that better

@TimStone ...*facedesk*
"Oh, how we vote doesn't matter? Then for sure, let's look good! We don't have to actually do it, after all."

Limited Run Games just announced the long-awaited release details for Axiom Verge Wii U. @Nzall Teachers in Canada are actually well compensated. This is all just about budget cuts. That's all Ford cares about. Making the budget lower so his supporters, who only care about themselves, will keep voting for him
Information on teacher salaries: globalnews.ca/news/1346218/…
> On average, our province is in the middle compared to the rest of Canada, sitting at $49,410, but new teachers in Alberta make the most at $58,500.
> In Alberta, teachers make $99,300 on average and B.C. teachers make about $81,500 after a decade of experience, which translates to a 60 per cent increase in salary in 10 years.
Older story, but the numbers likely aren't that far off from today.

user15026
Also, a friend raised a good point - raising classes in HS from 20 to 28 means that you need more kids to pick an elective to offer it so in rural schools that means stuff that isn't required like arts and languages just isn't going to happen

Yeah this is bad for everyone, but rural schools will really suffer
and I'm sure it's the rural areas that make up a huge part of Fords supporters

user15026
Add in the forced online component for things and it just gets worse

but yeah, that's the conservative way. Your supporter base is the people you hurt the most!

user15026
Pretty much. I mean Ford has made it damn clear he cares about the urban rich and not erally anyone else

7:15 PM
Do you think he may be going for a privatization playbook too?
Like, break the schools, say "man, public schools are really struggling wonder how that happened", and then bring in charters?

user15026
That's what people are kinda afraid of yeah for both schools and healthcare

user15026
(With how he's threatening LHIN's and stuff that serve rural communities for healthcare and so on)

user15026
I mean it's very clear hes willing to do anytign that his rich cronies want to line their pockets

This would be consistent with what we've seen in Kentucky for example

user15026
nods I am watching a lot of the AMerican stuff very warily waiting to see what he's gonna copy nexr

7:24 PM
Though online only is kind of its own thing (that we also saw in Kentucky with the Medicaid work requirements thing)

user15026
The online stuff pisses me off because again it's ignoring the needs and restrictions of rural communities

user15026
if you can only get 2-4 mbps down....it's going to get crazy hard to get shit done.

Yeah, that was for matt bevin
If people are unable to log in to report their hours to the state, they have to call an extremely unhelpful hotline and probably just lose their coverage.

user15026
I figured none of this was new to you, but it just makes me mad at how much Ontario is like pointing fingers at America and laughing and it's like WE ARE DOING THE SAME THING YOU IDIOTS

Well, would have to, the work requirements have been invalidated for now
Meanwhile

The best part about this joke is that reading between the lines, the jokester is more concerned about the senseless waste of the egg.

Shabbat Shalom, here's @benshapiro.
rack em
@SallyRMelb @JaneCaro @Peter_Fitz Yes, the police got him checked out and were great. When the cops turned up and he was being held to the ground, he said, "here comes the bacon for the egg." Cops laughed, Anning's thugs didn't.
I'm now a monarcho-communist but with this dude as the king
