As I read it, the overall effect of section 402 would have been "If businesses boycott Israel in a particular way, States can choose not to do business with them or invest in them". Not that that's OK, but saying that it would block people from boycotting isn't really accurate, and it's a severe overreaction to say that it's a violation of the first amendment or that the people who voted for it are traitors (as half of that twitter thread is claiming)
> "We need to raise $500,000 in ONE DAY. I want to know who stood with me when it mattered most so I’ve asked my team to send me a list of EVERY AMERICAN PATRIOT who donates to the Official Secure the Border Fund," read the email written in Trump's name.
> I’ve asked my team to send me a list of EVERY AMERICAN PATRIOT who donates
any guesses what kind of kick backs those people are going to be getting
NEW: Sen @lisamurkowski is calling for the rest of the government to be re-opened while negotiations continue on the border wall: "We don't need to hold up these six other departments at the same time that we are resolving these very important security issues."
unfortunate misstatement and a mistake is when you say it once. not when you repeatedly say it as a fact for your argument
moreso, the fact it's corrected means it's irrelevant to the issue Sanders has been using it for. unless the US is going to turn itself into Lindblum from Final Fantasy IX where the airplanes will all go into one hole and one dock, a wall is going to do shit all about the fact 4,000 terrorists were apprehended in airports
(Sanders has been saying a wall is needed because 4,000 terrorists were apprehended crossing the border)
> Conway on Monday acknowledged that most of the nearly 4,000 terrorists apprehended in fiscal 2017 were found at airports, citing a report from the Department of Homeland Security.
when I moved in with Steve three months into our relationship it’s because I lied and said I was getting evicted and needed a place to live when in fact I just wanted to move in

AP FACT CHECK: Democrats put the blame for the shutdown on Trump. But it takes two to tango. Trump's demand for $5.7 billion for his border wall is one reason for the budget impasse. The Democrats refusal to approve the money is another. http://apne.ws/Ar1Kxzw
@GodEmperorDune can i just not read it and take Australians Have More Fun What we can learn from “Canada in a thong.” at face value and go "and we do all of this while fighting against Emus!"
NEW: 'Bowl Patrol': Dylann Roof Fans Hope to Inspire More Mass Shootings

The latest in our #DiscordLeaks series dives into alt-right internet subculture surrounding Dylann Roof in the wake of recent arrests of would-be shooters acting in Roof's name.
Honestly, what I ultimately hope for, considering what the High Court said about A50: 1. May unilaterally extends the deadline with a couple months; 2. May calls a second referendum: should the UK have a no-deal Brexit or remain in the EU?; 3. UK votes overwhelmingly for remain; 4. May unilaterally withdraws their A50 call; 5. Tories lose power for the next 50 years
But that has just about the chance of Trump getting 30 billion for his border wall project

@TimStone That's still on the table tbh. It would still be a massive loss, having spent 2 years bickering and dividing the country (not to mention the riots if that happens) to achieve absolutely nothing.

The Camp Fire killed 86 people, destroyed 14,000 homes & burned 150,000 acres. It’s absolutely shocking for President Trump to suggest he would deny disaster assistance to the victims. It's a super common slur. https://www.thewrap.com/ny-times-crossword-editor-apologizes-for-slur-in-new-years-day-puzzle/
Also, "maybe we live in rarefied circles" -> "we don't hear that slur a lot in our rich white people parties because there aren't any Hispanics there".
Taking a few liberties, maybe, but "we live in rarefied circles" is so incredibly condescending.

@GodEmperorDune It makes sense, and I'd love to think that this would be a wake up call for America, but....let's be real, so far nothing else has worked, I'm doubtful this will wake anyone up to the problem

Stop making arguments against an idea that doesn't exist.
Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!
