In his *fourth* major byline since being fired, Kevin still hasn’t answered the goddamn question. But I’m sure in another dozen or so we’ll know for sure whether or not he really believes women should be hanged, and if not, why he said otherwise twice. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/kevin-williamson-the-punishment-i-favor-for-abortion/2018/04/25/5001c6cc-48c5-11e8-8b5a-3b1697adcc2a_story.html
Okay, here's why I'm so mad about the #TorontoAttack. Here's why it's so searingly awful and heartbreaking. Canadian women have been warning everybody about the normalization of MRA rhetoric in Canadian media FOR YEARS.
"Disgraced CBS anchor Charlie Rose is being slated to star in a show where he’ll interview other high-profile men who have also been toppled by #MeToo scandals." https://pge.sx/2qYyLdp
@quartata Like a god damn roly-poly toy, "toppled" and then right back up again, making money on the very thing that they were supposed to be punished for
Every time I read about violent, self righteous incels I get furious, because *plenty of women spend their lives feeling unfuckable*, but instead of being taught that the world owes them sex they're taught to think they're just worthless people.
> Father once told Mother he believes the moon landing was staged. When Mother asked how he could possibly believe such, he said he learned it from spending time with Ted Cruz’s team, noting something about the Houston connection

Trump acknowledged that Michael Cohen represented him “with this crazy Stormy Daniels thing,” but then the call went out so you couldn’t hear what else he said on Fox & Friends.
BREAKING: Jackson withdraws VA nom. Statement:
“While I will forever be grateful for the trust and confidence President Trump has placed in me by giving me this opportunity, I am regretfully withdrawing my nomination to be Secretary for the Department of Veterans Affairs.”
@TimStone The fact that Trump simply can't shut up in situations where there is nothing to gain for him, and everything to lose will cause his downfall, I hope.
> The fringe group Mountaintop Gun Club for example rented private surface land for $1 from concerned landowners. In return, the club established shooting ranges on threatened land in the hopes that the presence of armed individuals might deter coal companies from taking the land by force.
Admiral Ronny Jackson is a man of exceptional integrity, character and intellect. We are grateful for his long and distinguished service to our Nation and look forward to continuing to see his warm smile each day at the White House!
@TimStone Looks like it, and I expect that there will still be a lot of digging into Jackson's past, and with what we've heard so far, I don't think they'll end up empty handed.
Seems kind of weird though, right? Like if you're not really really sure he was never drunk on the job, and there's no way this wasn't a blind defense, kinda feel like you wouldn't want him as your doctor?

I got a hold of Michael Cohen over the phone. At first he said he would have to call me back and then I asked him what's his reaction to the Trump interview on Fox & Friends. Cohen said "Did you hear what I said to you? I’m on the other line with my lawyers…." He then hung up.
@TimStone Okay so I was surprised (but happy) to see judges block this and DACA from being ended. I understand the teen program one better - these grants have already been awarded, you can end the program, you just can't end it early and rescind previously awarded grants.
However, what's the reasoning behind DACA? I get that they were claiming it was unlawful and they failed to show that, but why did they even need to claim unlawful in the first place? Why were they not able to just say "This is a program we were doing and now we're not going to do it anymore."
If they had just said "We're not going to provide the data anymore" then it probably would have been fine, but instead for optics they were like "Don't worry we still have it" and were forced to put it back up.
Now: SDNY says Hannity, Trump statements about ties to Michael Cohen 'suggest that the seized materials are unlikely to contain voluminous privileged documents' https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4447558/Cohen-USAO-20180426.pdf
Also kind of weird that you'd walk into a Congressional testimony knowing you'd lie under oath but I guess since consequence no longer exists it's just #yolo
#EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt Opening Statement: "I have nothing to hide…Facts are facts and fiction is fiction. And a lie doesn't become truth just because it appears on the front page of the newspaper."

I assume McConnell will still refuse to bring it to the floor
But maybe Grassley and McConnell will have an old man battle

> But how do you present yourself as an Alpha? “Never compliment her without a qualification,” he writes. “Let her know what you want in a woman and make her explain why she fits those criteria.”
Hey look, it's 2018 and we're not only still negging but paying others to do it.
> Jason Bostic, the vice president of the West Virginia Coal Association, summed up the coal industry’s response when he looked out on a snaking line of 1,500 people marching up a mountain in ninety-degree weather and asked, “What good is a mountain just to have a mountain?”
Diamond and Silk are claiming in their House hearing right now that they've never been paid by the Trump campaign. But the Trump campaign FEC filing disagrees! http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/forms/C00580100/1133930/sb/ALL/4
In going back through FEC records, I also noticed (and hadn't previously seen this) that the only other candidate to pay Diamond and Silk in 2016 was...white nationalist Paul Nehlen

Trump put out a statement congratulating Pompeo, the only part that was interesting to me was that he's the 70th Secretary of State, meaning Tillerson was 69 and that seems like a wasted opportunity
Via @pewresearch : Democrats used to be much more likely than Republicans to say they like elected officials who compromise with those on the other side.
Now, no more.

So many people spending so much time spectacularly melting the fuck down over character creation having [pronouns: he/she/they] instead of [gender: male/female]
@Ave Got it, thanks for explaining. That all seems very understandable. Sorry that you're being asked to help deal with a problem while being out of gas to do so. I hope the situation resolves in a way that helps preserve your mental health and those asking for help. Thanks for helping in the past.
@puzzlepiece87 since the atlantic, I googled the author and hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha this is the "the atlantic should have kept kevin williamson" guy
If you're intending to tie these things to the ACLU's involvement in the permits for the events of A12, then frankly, I'm just going to point to the closer of the last time I ranted about how that was a bad call, in that, I'm not going to argue about whether or not that was a bad call.
