If your relationship depends on the illusion that everyone else's attraction pales in comparison to that of your boyfriend, I would be pretty concerned. You are quite mistaken about your trip to Germany, so I correct your misinterpretation before you spend your money fruitlessly. FKK clubs are not brothels, they do not do sex at all. They are really nudists who enjoy being nude, nothing more. There are clubs which have members who do sex voluntarily, but they are called Swingerclub in German. In the case where they're in the kitchen and you're in your room, why does it bug you? Are you worried they are talking behind your back? Do you want to participate in their conversation and can't? Okay, I would suggest editing to better communicate that then, because I would have only guessed that was your question if all I read was the title. The entire body of the question makes it seem like you can handle correcting them well, and that you understand that you cannot realistically prevent accidental misgendering, but you want people to know how much it hurts when they do. Why are your sleep habits inconveniencing her? Unless you are trying to drag her away from parties because they are too late for you, what cause does she have to want you to conform to what she wants? This has nothing to do with people being "emotional" at night, which as far as I know, isn't even a thing. It sounds like she wants to talk to you when everyone else she knows has gone to bed. If you have a question and it gets closed and deleted, that's usually a sign that it's a bad fit for this site. I understand that your grandmother is having issues but perhaps you need to find another solution than just getting them to respond faster. For example, why are stuck with email communication at all? Why are you talking to the department instead of the professor? Nothing you can do will get them to be faster, so we can't really help with that but you need to think about why you're stuck on this solution right now and maybe reconsider it. — Catija ♦ 29 secs ago

@Sentinel From looking around this site almost every question here can be answered by "Why don't you just" followed by something simple. The devil is in the details. What kind of distance are you trying to achieve? Ending the friendship entirely? Or just to the point where you don't really hang out, but still talk when you run across each other? How quick do you want this process to be, how honest do you want to be with her? Are you open to confronting her on the matter and severing all ties, or would this be a no-go? Are there any cultural practices we need to take into account on the matter (e.g. are you expected to give Amy more leeway because of her mental problems? Is directness appreciated?) — Tinkeringbell 13 secs ago

The reason I couched it in terms of one's own feelings is that it avoids an argument over it where both sides feel separately valid from their own perspectives. Your feelings are your own, and anyone who says you must feel differently than you are saying you do feel is engaging in a form of gaslighting. — taswyn 2 mins ago

@henning Proof isn't exactly the right word. In this case your answer isn't saying much more than "Do this." which isn't sufficient to be an answer on this site. @snart Why not? You can say you went to taste the food. What are you going to say when they ask for photos or the name of the town or hotel? I think you basically just need to say you spent the whole time pretty much indoors trying out all the facilities. If they ask what it was like you just "Ah different in very major but hard to describe ways. The Germans do everything SO different, it is very subtle. Someone will say something obvious that 99% of the people in the world know is true, like "girls often don't think the same way boys do" or "rocks fall when you drop them". And then someone will demand proof. And then if you say, "well I just dropped a rock and it fell to the ground" they say "that's anecdotal evidence, not sufficient". Reading your answer I feel like somehow I haven't made myself clear on what I want. You answered a bunch of things I didn't ask. What I want to know is a valid approach to give the OP the information that won't get later deleted of the site. Options I see: create a chat and post my comments, and link the chat. Editing the question like you said, but that would mess up the existing answers, so in this case I can't. Create a new question and link it on comments. But you guys delete comments, So If I link a chat or another question in comments, will that get deleted? — Mykazuki 59 secs ago

Commiserate very loosely means together misery. It's used to describe a shared negative feeling. — sphennings 47 secs ago

The purpose of the Stack Exchange network is to create high quality Q&A that will be useful in the future. Helping any specific person is just a side effect of that, not the main goal. — Rainbacon 1 min ago

HI, bookcrazy, welcome to Interpersonal Skills Stack Exchange. I don't think this really answers the OP's question; they want to know how to talk to the person, and they're asking about how to apply interpersonal skills to the situation at hand. Your answer doesn't really do that; can you perhaps edit it to make it better? Thanks. — HDE 226868 ♦ 1 min ago

@Tinkeringbell Sure, it was just a toss-out to illustrate how a scope change would change the nature of questions and answers. I seem to recall a rather good question from you which was not etiquette related and very much fit the SE format. — Harper 18 secs ago
