@JAD I considered that - ultimately there is a finality to my answer and view that would make expanding my answer pointless, so feel free to downvote. I just don't think it makes good business sense for Stack Overflow to voluntarily sign up for complex, dramatic, controversial questions that are not professionally oriented. @avazula I'd argue that intrapersonal skills relate to feelings that are internal and while they may influence how you act with others, they only directly affect you. OP here is asking how they can act around others to appear less "dominating" and annoying to those in the area. To me this seems more interpersonal than intrapersonal. Hmm, you seem to be assuming that he was trying to get his friends to invest in this business venture. That MAY be true, but I've often heard friends talk about some business idea with no apparent intention to get me or others present to invest. He just wants to talk about something he's excited about, not particularly different from when someone talks about his favorite band or the latest movie. @EmC Can I edit to completely change my answer to say that I think it is a good idea? No, I can't. I believe the proper etiquette in this case is, "Don't do it." I don't wish to be rude, but sometimes the right answer to a question is to challenge the premise. If someone asks, "How can you say that the sum of two even numbers is always an even number when 2+2=5?", the only reasonable answer is to point out that 2+2 is not equal to 5, not to explain how 5 is an even number.
