long story short, me and my friends had a joke where we would "promote" VLC media player (in classes and stuff) in favor of Windows media player which sucks in comparison, so I became know as the VLC guy

the polar bear happens to be a reference of our discord server name (same group of friends) called "polar bear tavern" (in simple english)

the background was just something the creator of it made
I think it was really clever

@PeterCordes I'd say it depends on the context / normal conversation culture. With some teams I know this would fly as a perfectly valid answer getting across the point and making everyone at least smirk if said in the right tone. And perhaps followed by a "sorry guys/girls/... smile" But yes, in other contexts wouldn't fly so well.
