so an employee at my workplace burnt his hands after using alcohol sanitizer and touching a metal piece with static electricity
"almost invisible flame made first and second degree burns"
use soap everyone!
i mean, you gotta be somewhat dumb to attempt such thing but it can happen to everyone

1:02 PM
O.o
Or use your alcohol sanitizer properly? I was taught that if you have to use sanitizer because soap/water isn't available, you make the same movements as when washing, and continue until all alcohol sanitizer has evaporated and your skin is dry again.

^this

@Tinkeringbell That's what I do too :P

Good, good. Stay safe! :D

But there is easily water/soup available
just a few feet away
where alcohols one are mostly everywhere

soup? XD You confused me for a sec.
Yeah, the alcohols are everywhere... At least that gives me an excuse to stay home from further furniture adventures.
Eczema, yay!

@CaldeiraG 0_0
I have actually set my hands on fire with isopropyl alcohol and I think at worst... the hair on my hands was singed

Reminds me a bit of that old trick in chemistry class, where the teacher would use gas to make soap bubbles, you'd put your hands under a stream of cold water, scoop up the bubbles with wet hands, then he'd light them on fire :D

@Tinkeringbell That sounds awful

It was fun!
You felt like a dragon for a sec :P

My chemistry teacher never did that, he just poured acetone on a table and set it on fire

That's cool too. Ours also had a particular fondness for phosphor.

2:08 PM
I'm not sure if mine had a particular fondness for anything

2:26 PM
Setting things in general on fire, perhaps?

2:45 PM
Maybe, but he mostly just kind of seemed annoyed by having to do anything

3:10 PM
@Tinkeringbell soap XD

Q: How do I regain rapport with a recruiter whose phone screen meeting I missed?

isakbobBackground Today I had a scheduling mishap for a phone screening with a recruiter. She had the meeting scheduled at 1:30 p.m., and I sincerely thought it was scheduled at 3:00p.m. I work in an area where I don't have immediate access to my phone, nor can I hear it ring. She called at 1:30, an...
