I'm not sure if this is better suited to the Workplace but I got a new job about three months ago and it's been great so far, the boss is a typical high energy CEO but he has some anger problems. Once I dropped one of our prototypes and he yelled at me and told me to go home (it was at 10am so I ...
I answered a question (How to schedule meetups effectively?) on how to schedule a meeting effectively. Now I cannot find my answer anymore. Was it deleted? If yes, why? Is there some kind of notification I missed? Can I see my deleted answers somewhere?
I look younger than I am. Some might think that is beneficial, but I have never recognized any advantage, and felt hindered at several times:
Aged 16, I helped my school to give tours to future students (age ~12). Teachers who did not know me, kept coming to me, asking if I had made my school c...
@ExtrovertedMainMan this will be interesting to read... I get the feeling some people in my current team think I came here straight out of undergrad sometimes :/
You go to throw the cartridge, but as you pull back your arm, you worry that you may throw it too hard and injure scohe. You overcompensate (undercompensate?) and throw it way too short. @Rain, unaware this is happening, walks between the two of you while on his phone and steps on the cartridge, crushing it.
@JAD lol if you can type well enough to get all that SE rep, I've gotta assume you have some dexterity :p
@JAD I just had a sudden image of you sitting at your work desk with an unopened can/bottle of beer on top and then just when 5:00 hits, you crack it open and start chugging.
Are you trying to do this only on a professional setting? If so, I think the links @MisterPositive provided should get you covered on a professional setting. Probably this question is a "duplicate" but from TWP not from IPS — Juliana Karasawa Souza55 secs ago
Do you drive / own a car? If you'd have gone with your own car, how much would you expect to spend on this ride? (On another note, how much does a pitcher of beer cost? That's probably how much you should be giving him in cash...) — Juliana Karasawa Souza47 secs ago
@EmC let me have a listen too, and I offer this post rock in exchange youtube.com/watch?v=oB2-vnxy8U8 "Mogwai - I Love You, I'm Going To Blow Up Your School" CC @avazula it being a post rock
now for the third time, What time does weekend start ?
@MCP_infiltrator It is an inference, of course, but it looks like your wife is both not good with numbers and financially uneducated, so if you go too much into detail or use just numbers for that, you're going to lose her pretty early into the conversation. I like this video for illustrating — Juliana Karasawa Souza1 min ago
@ankii oh it's from a musical, so it probably doesn't make as much sense out of context haha. there's a mish-mash of styles throughout the whole thing :D
I'm sure google autocomplete results get run through some kind of perspective algorithm like our toxicity for comments. I'd hope a name like that would trip it lol
Hey @AlwaysConfused it looks like [this answer] of yours is discussed on meta here... I'm curious to know if you have any thoughts on keeping/not keeping these kinds of images on the site as well? :)
Also... Grammarly now gives feedback on the 'tone' of your messages :D But not this one, I wonder why not this one?
@Tinkeringbell I hope so :) I was in a pretty bad mood when I deactivated it. It keeps saying that my texts were happy when they really weren't. It kind of making me want to punch the "smiley face" that keeped showing up ^^
@Ælis Ugh, yeah. That sounds like it would be getting your tone wrong then. Mine isn't doing much right now, I need to figure out what triggers it (it seems to be message length, perhaps?) It's also mostly showing a happy smiley, meaning 'friendly'. That's of course different from optimistic/happy/joyful
I did get one with a pair of trousers, that one was to say my message was really, really, really informal. XD
@AGirlHasNoName Well, knowing why your comment was deleted can be helpful is the aim is to improve for next time (so that you won't be unintentionally rude). So, I do believe this to be a valid MSE question. However, flagging for mod attention when they are already overwelled with works is... probably not the best course of action
(Note: I'm not saying that this is the reason why the OP posted their question, though)
Any thoughts on this question? It seems to me like it might be a bit off topic, but I'm a little surprised to see that it has 0 close votes, so maybe I'm missing something
@Rainbacon I'm kind of not reading things on IPS other that what is on the review queue lately, so don't be surprised if I didn't vote on something ^^ (I'll try to take it a look later now that you have pointed it out :) )
Fortunately for my current PR, I don't actually have to log into the environment to manually test. I just need the automated tests to run so I don't have to stay at work late and wait for my code to get deployed
@EmC hey I'm just saying, 9 months to build and then 18 years to setup all the configs?! Not to mention, the docs online are terrible. Outdated and bad information everywhere. And then if there's a bug while you're setting up, you just have to hope your local devs have a plugin that'll fix it? That's not how you do user experience :/
@Ælis LOL but if you can get the configs right, you get a fully functional AI that obeys your (almost) every whim. So I guess I can see why so many people try it...
