@Ælis eh.. the main issue is that it'd be disruptive to the home page. this isn't a super strong opinion, but I think it'd be better to do so in small amounts or as you just normally come across them

It's broken. And I can't help but think that there are misunderstandings at the root of it, but SE has dug in so hard on this that they won't reconsider. But they can reconsider and not lose face, by realizing there were misunderstandings and not malice. This doesn't have to be a fight.

And quite honestly - one of the (many) reasons that I took a break as a mod is - maybe selfishly, is that I don't feel up to dealing with that at the moment

@JourneymanGeek if they step in soon they can still fix this part of it. (The broader company issues are harder, I grant.) They can say that they misunderstood something I wrote, apologize, reinstate me, and I won't make a stink over it. Presumably they could still get most of the other resignees back. I suspect the window in which they can do that and sound persuasive is measured in hours, though.

respectfully, can I ask that we don't discuss this here? I'm very sad about everything that's going on and still processing too, but this is not an IPS.SE issue and so much of it isn't public that I feel really uncomfortable talking about it in this room.
