Q: Are there some topics that are too sensitive to discuss on the main site?

Tom AuI am on History SE, where two of the most frequent topics are the Holocaust (and related issues) and the (American) Civil War (and I'm not referring to the battles.) I am thinking of asking a question on this site about how to introduce/present such topics. Would they be too sensitive for a site...

Q: How do I recover from my social awkwardness being pointed out?

Em CI am shy, introverted, and have social anxiety, so chatting with people I don't know is usually very uncomfortable. I've gotten better at it, but it's still a struggle. On a few occasions it's been pointed out to me how awkward I am being. When I hear that, I just want to shrivel up and disappear...

Ah, halfway to Fanatic.
Dang, are we really 50 days old?
01:22
@HDE226868 I know it's hit the list before, not sure when exactly.
Hope the Vikings reference wasn't too obscure or... combative...

Q: Rewarding the best answers in the first 50 days of Interpersonal Skills

HDE 226868We're 50 days old! It's kind of surprising, at least to me; I didn't know we'd get so far. We've seen both good content and bad content, as anyone who's checked out meta knows. We're trying to keep quality high. We've certainly seen plenty of highly-upvoted posts, but it's easy for really good po...

Q: How should I approach a situation in which I made a female roommate I made uncomfortable?

I was informed by the housing manager that there had been a complaint against me by a fellow female tenant for discussing maid cafes and suggesting the complainan...

Q: How to respond to someone when they ask how much you earn?

Bradley WilsonWhen I'm at social gatherings/parties, people would enquire about my job and because I'm an app developer, they think I earn substantially more than I do. (oh, the joy!) and would follow up asking about my job with something along the lines of "So, how much do you earn then?" What would be a val...

Q: Can a single answer receive multiple bounties?

Ant PI know already that multiple bounties can be started on the same question (albeit not concurrently); but, can multiple bounties be awarded to the same answer? For example: can I start a bounty against a question in order to reward an answer that has already received a previous bounty?

Q: How to tell people they should feel free to drop by, without necessarily inviting them?

SQBOften I'd like to tell people to feel free to drop by, for instance for a birthday, without wanting them to feel obliged to do so. @ExtrovertedMainMan INVITE MEEE!!
@SQB The only synonym to feel free I could find is be my guest.
I suppose be my guest may be taken literally in Dutch.
As if you force them to be your guest at the party.
Or how about "you can join me if you want to"? Is it worth an answer?

I'll leave you with this idea: I just saw a custom close reason over on Parenting to close questions seeking medical advice. Should we have a custom close reason here for when users should seek professional help?
@NVZ I'm not sure what you mean. The problem for me is that I seem to have to word it very carefully, lest they either feel obliged or unwelcome.
I'm off now.

@SQB That close reason is a brilliant idea, maybe putup a meta post?

Q: Polite alternative for "none of your business"

EiliaIt seems it's rude and impolite to say directly to someone "none of your business". So, what's the more gentle alternative(s) for situations in which we should say "hey, this is none of your business!"?

That certainly works, too. Maybe add it to your answer?
NVZ
NVZ
It's better as a separate answer.
Also, another user came very close.

A: How to respond to someone when they ask how much you earn?

RichardIn the UK, it is incredibly rude to directly ask someone how much they earn. I wouldn't even expect to be asked by my own parents. It's not necessary to make light of the situation or play it off with humour. You can just respond with I prefer not to say. Or That's not something I talk ...

@SQB Let's see how often we get such questions. Unless there's a significant number, it's not really necessary to have a dedicated close reason.
Hello Aj

@NVZ it's a very British response

Q: Is it possible for my friend to resume communication with his unofficial sister without earning her husband's mistrust?

English Student8 years ago a close friend of mine aged 30 at the time met an 18 year old girl who later became his sister. This is India, remember, and it happens here. Apparently you prefer having the hyphen. It adds a certain style to it, a change in tone.
