6:11 AM
morning :)

MiG
6:36 AM
Morning :)
staying home I guess, hence happy? ;)

Oh, the happy is more habit.
There's plenty to not be happy actually XD

MiG
6:52 AM
I hope not :(
Overslept here, need to pick up bread from the supermarket quickly before first meeting starts :/

Run!
@MiG Well I'm still coughing, I'm also getting sore muscles from that again, my mind is/I am an absolute mess just doing one dumb stupid thing after another, there will be a family barbecue next weekend but my parents aren't going because covid so I will be stuck there with exactly only people I hate or severely dislike, I still haven't heard back from the guy that's supposed to let me know what it's going to cost to finish the tiles in the backyard, the neighbor is still an arsehole...
Inflation is still sky-high, my energy bill will double, the groceries are only getting more and more expensive and the supermarkets here haven't had any good deals in weeks.
Do I need to continue?

3 hours later…
MiG
9:35 AM
ouch :(
well, the family BBQ at least you can come up with an excuse for tbh :)

9:46 AM
I don't think so. Mom is insisting I'm 'covid free' after quarantining (and I'm no longer testing positive), so I can't just skip...

MiG
10:15 AM
That's you succumbing to social pressure though, I assume there won't be armed guards forcibly escorting you to the BBQ ;)
diy.stackexchange.com/questions/252360/… - these kinds of questions really worry me, the guy accepted the one that can cause roof collapse :x
it's a shed, so hopefully it'll just be the car that gets crushed under a Chicago blizzard, rather than people

@MiG Well technically there could just as well be armed guards... You're underestimating the wrath of mom and dad.
At least armed guards kill you when you try to escape, they don't make you suffer even more.

MiG
I guess my parents are used to me being stubborn and won't insist :)

10:37 AM
@Tinkeringbell swap out the buffer with sprite!

@JourneymanGeek Yeah, I heard lemon juice works too XD

basically any acid

Yep :)

MiG
I should have produced a few extra positive tests, could have started a business :d

To be honest though, it still wouldn't work as I'm going out with a friend in the afternoon, to celebrate her birthday (couldn't make it last week as I was still testing positive). It would be weird for me to be negative for the afternoon, and positive again in the evening XD

MiG
10:44 AM
nobody has to know you tested negative in the afternoon :)
I can't believe I'm talking someone into fraudulent behaviour tbh :x

10:55 AM
Hah. I have written answers about pro-social deceptions before, but I personally really hate lying and liars.

MiG
Ditto :)
I guess I tend to be open, so if I'm not interested in doing something I will also be open about that (and fortunately in my case people accept it too)

@MiG I've been tempted many times to take a sickie from work
I even have the 'special' always positive test swab from when work gave me a full bulk package of test kits

@MiG Oh, I'm definitely honest about that too, people just don't like it XD
@JourneymanGeek I've had the same temptation, I'm glad I didn't... Because now it wasn't suspicious when I really did have it XD

lol
My mom got it twice

11:17 AM
Sure, you can get it twice but it would be really awkward if that was covid, week of being better, covid again XD

MiG
11:34 AM
that would also be highly unusual, there's only one dominant variant right now :)

test could be wrong
I had that happen

Ah, sure. and while you could probably get a day off to get properly tested, all I would get is a 'stay home, but work' day XD
(If it were an office day).

1 hour later…
MiG
1:02 PM
@JourneymanGeek it's possible, but the chance of a false positive is smaller than a false negative iirc
@Tinkeringbell man :( for me that wasn't possible, I was in pretty bad shape and couldn't even stay awake half the time

@MiG Yeah, with real covid, me neither. But we were talking about faking a positive test ;)

MiG
oh sorry :D

I would have to fake symptoms and feeling sick enough to not work too, while Geek works in a place where he can get the day off after a self-test to get the results confirmed, IIRC (no working from home for him).

Oh
current guidelines is 'we trust you, don't go to a doctor unless you're sick sick'

MiG
same for uni here tbh
I just call in sick, and I let them know when I'm okay again
although I've heard from gf's place that there are people that comically abuse that system, staying away for a month
