6:15 AM
@MiG Still, ideal temperatures would be like 15 or something.
(for me)
Anything over that and I start sweating when I do stuff.
Morning

MiG
Morning :)
@Tinkeringbell Well, it was 14C when I left, so ideal for you :P
went for a round of cycling, felt really nice <3
basically raced gf's bus to her work and arrived 3 mins earlier :D

MiG
sweating a little bit, but I'm home and my first meeting is at 10, so right now excessive garments are optional :d

I did some gardening last night as my exercise. The municipality being a nuisance here has one benefit: They made a huge pile of dirt and rocks, and I threw my rocks on that pile too :P

MiG
sneaky :P

6:25 AM
@MiG Hah. Pants are always optional even for meetings :P

MiG
:D
tbh, I feel more comfortable wearing normal clothes during meetings, even when they're online
we almost always have video on, so onesies (even IF I owned one) are not an option :P
but right now I can sit down and let my body breathe :)

Hahaha I think I did exactly one pantless meeting, and that was an 'emergency' one, scheduled minutes before I was planning on diving into the pool. So I was wearing a bathing suit and shirt XD

MiG
:D
you have a pool? o_O

One of those Intex ones.

MiG
@Tinkeringbell had to look that one up... Nice, we don't even have a garden right now :(

6:36 AM
(This was at my parent's place, but I'm definitely also getting one for me if I can find one)

MiG
I mean, technically the living room is big enough... :d

I want one of those round kiddie pools, with a radius of about 1m, 1.5m ... but I would like mine to be a bit higher than 20cm XD
@MiG Hahaha I wouldn't take the chance, too much risk for water damage.

MiG
I've been considering putting one of those in the living room before... sounds great when there's another heatwave, hang in the shade next to fridge, freezer and TV :D
@Tinkeringbell oh, I would definitely add precautions
probably a larger basin and a barrier around it so any splashes and escaping gulps end up in there rather than the floor
same way those large cylindrical fuel tanks have a dike around them

Hmm. That sounds almost sensible! I still wouldn't, but I might XD

MiG
Trust me, I'm an engineer! :d

6:48 AM
I just looked, bol.com has plenty of 1,5m baths that are about 50cm high at the moment. I might just order one soon, because once the next heat wave strikes, they will probably all be sold out again XD

MiG
Don't listen to me though, do not put it in the living room :x
and yeah, there will be a run for them then :)

Hahaha don't have enough space to put it in the living room, don't worry :)

MiG
the catastrophe of releasing several cubic meters of water into the living room is pretty bad :x

If I buy one of those pools though, I need to get a garden hose through the living room to fill it up XD

MiG
floor ruined, if it splashes into the sockets, electronics affected, anything touching the floor will have water damage

6:51 AM
@MiG I have a PVC floor, it is supposedly able to handle it. For the rest, the couch and furniture all has 'pootjes', so nothing is really on the ground except the kitchen XD

MiG
hehe, that should be alright though - when it's filling always stay close though in case of mishaps
couple of cubic meters releasing at once will cause waves though, stuff needs to be pretty high up to be safe

Yeah it's just that ... I can't just spend 30 euro's on a small pool and be done with it, I need an air pump (preferably electric :P), the garden hose, the stuff to tie that to the kitchen faucet...

MiG
hehehe
it's almost like how apple catches you with obligatory peripherals :P

So all in all I think I'm looking at closer to 200 euros (as I'm probably also not going to go with the cheapest pool :P)
Yeah, it is!

MiG
I'd check reviews tbh, there's probably a price/performance curve to be drawn
surprisingly I don't see a consumentengids test for zwembaden yet :)

6:54 AM
People seem enthusiastic about bol.com/nl/nl/p/opblaasbaar-zwembad-ocean-reef/9200000077024259/…, can even be used to give birth in XD

MiG
underwater births
that's too hippie for me :P
@Tinkeringbell apart from the print, ugh, looks alright

I like the print!
Makes me feel childishly happy XD

MiG
it's okay, I won't have to look at it :P

7:09 AM
:D
bol.com/nl/nl/p/bestway-kinderzwembad-big-metallic-d150cm/… < But I've also been considering something like this, just to be more 'adult'.
It's just that the small pools usually come with brightly colored child prints XD

MiG
7:37 AM
@Tinkeringbell That looks pretty nice actually :)
@Tinkeringbell ...I wonder why... :P

@MiG Yeah, why? Apparently these are also used by adults :P
I guess it's just nice when you're in full labor to have a pretty childish print to look at XD

MiG
@Tinkeringbell I assume adults are not the primary market though :P
@Tinkeringbell :D

Q: Can these products protect a pc from emp jamming during work?

Natalia L. LyonsMy sister's boyfriend lives in a bad neighborhood. He creates graphics on canva. Unfortunately, he is going through hell due to emp jamming. He is looking for a cost efficient and easy to use solution. My sister has asked me whether the following products can be used to protect the work pc from e...

They probably heard some terms and are now shopping for expensive fad stuff that doesn't do anything
I bet all it is, is someone's on the same WiFi channel and they have an iffy network connection
if we can somehow fix selfishness and ignorance in humanity, we'd probably have colonised the milky way galaxy by now and on our way to the rest of the Local Group

8:28 AM
lol
"Cost efficent"
"Easy to use"
How about... a cable

1 hour later…
MiG
9:35 AM
already posted that :)
they'll probably still end up paying like 20 euro for 5m of cable, but at least not the crazy stuff they linked to
and before you mention it, no, I'm not gonna talk them into buying a 100m roll with plugs and cable pliers just because it's a fraction of that cost per m cable :P
(and yes, I did do that)

Q: How do I deal with an office colleague whom I cannot avoid and he just won't stop talking about his favorite topic?

MugenI like a little social interaction with my colleagues. I've spoken 1-1 for quite a while in order to get to know my colleagues at my new desk job. There is a particular colleague who is obsessed with exercising. I talked to him about his hobbies and his interests. And now he won't stop talking ab...
