@ehuckabee whether or not you agree with their views is entirely irrelevant unless you are trying to change their views which is a completely different question. You goal here is to get them to reduce their volume. To do that you will need to talk with them and have a civil discussion, build rapport, get them to like you or at least be cordial/receptive. Any mention of difference of religious views will immediately and permanently remove that possibility. Put your views away and talk to them with respect as humans which you both are — Darren H 1 min ago

Is it not possible to flag comments on mobile if you aren't in the app?

+1. I was going to write an answer that the only non-legalistic approach would be to get to know them and convince them to do what you want based on their own values. Fortunately, it looks like your personal experience gives the OP a head start over what my generic solution would have been able to do! — Cort Ammon 53 secs ago

@Rainbacon Toggle to desktop site. But otherwise, no :(
Nothing too bad, I hope? Does it require immediate attention?

That's unfortunate
I don't think so, it was a generic complaint about moderators so I was hoping for the community to remove it. I accidentally upvoted it trying to flag in the app and it won't let me undo my vote or flag it now

@Rainbacon Ah well, at least it's nice to know the upvote is accidental XD

Is it intended that you can't flag a comment you've voted on or just a side effect of mobile?

5:18 PM
@Rainbacon I think that's always been like that...
I'm not sure though.

I think it's just a mobile thing, it let me flag it when I toggled to the desktop site

Q: How to get sibling to shower & brush teeth at an earlier time in Jack & Jill setting as to not wake me up?

user1821961I'm not sure if this would better belong in parenting stack I am happy to provide more information to try and help solve this. Culture context: Chinese Canadian. Problem summary: My sibling (mid 20s) takes a shower and brushes teeth late at night (after midnight around 1 to 1:30 AM) which wakes ...

@Stacey if you're wondering why I deleted those comments, here's an interesting read: christianity.meta.stackexchange.com/q/132/40334 ;)
(Basically, next time you see such a discussion, it's better to just flag the other comments as no-longer-needed)

5:43 PM
Eh, I have thicker skin with comments now. Only the OP can really explain and they seem to have disappeared so I was hoping to at least give insight. It wasn't a relevant discussion anyway.
It's a bit more annoying when only my comments get deleted and the other person's stay behind. At least this time most of it got nuked.
Thanks for explaining, though :)

@Stacey You're welcome (I kinda hate doing stuff without explaining. But if this is annoying, lemme know and I'll stop it)

6:06 PM
@Tinkeringbell it's not annoying, it's nice to know why. I do tend to be verbose and comment unnecessarily. I'm trying to put my effort into answers instead

@Stacey Please do! I saw some of them, and I really like the answer you wrote on that question about the loud religious group :D That's a very good answer, taking into account the culture and personal experience :)

Thanks, I never thought I'd end up using that experience around here.
Sometimes I can be way off base because I grew up in Africa and am a bit out of touch with USA culture

@Thunderforge Well, if OP can find some more basic thing she can't rationally explain than the one they started with and then just stops the discussion along the lines of "This is ok, everyone has feelings/premises and I'm not trying to take them away from you. Or if you notice later that it's not a premise at all, please tell me about it. :)" And the Socratic Method is not difficult, if they just agree to question each other about their beliefs (in the sense of learning for oneself, not of posing difficult questions) instead of arguing they are already using it. — Nobody 13 secs ago

@Catija But tell people that don't know any better that you have Xmillion views and they'll get way overly impressed.

Q: Why can't I add comments?

userI answered this question. I also wanted to add a comment on another one, but I am unable to do so. Why?
