@Catija I'd make an awesome RO. The best RO in the world
Except I've been around for less than a week
@Rainbacon I usually would go for less exotic pets

2 hours later…
6:25 AM
If anyone's around, ugly comment on a current HNQ answer could probably use flags: interpersonal.stackexchange.com/questions/13402/…

7:08 AM
@Cascabel grrr, I'm always late

plenty more opportunity for flagging out there, I'm sure!

@Cascabel sure, but laziness gets in the way
And I already have a couple of Marshals anyway

2 hours later…
9:14 AM
Huh, I'm pretty sure beta sites have custom close reasons
You haven't decided on yours yet?
The "should I is off-topic" seems like a plausible candidate

10:06 AM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Yep... although we had to encourage people to use 'off-topic because' first. Only if that's used a lot, it becomes easier to decide on custom-close reasons (or so I was taught)

10:28 AM
@Tinkeringbell well yeah that's the definition

11:04 AM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I'm a bit confused though. Usually, do mods initiate that stuff on meta, or does the community?
We never got to discussing that step :P

@Rainbacon Uh... Kitchen. Yeh. What for? Metaphors!

@Tinkeringbell On quantum computing, someone in the community started it, but we (the mods) decided it was too soon

So... we have 4 contestants for RO...
And 2 spaces open.
*sigh* Do we give speeches or not?
I guess that would be kinda hard to do in chat. :P

11:37 AM
@Mithrandir24601 Yeah, I started one in the past as well (professional help). When I asked why we hadn't it yet when we needed it again, that's when I learned we had to use it first as off-topic/because. ;-)

11:48 AM
@Tinkeringbell can you spare a flag approval? interpersonal.stackexchange.com/a/13472

Hi

1 hour later…

Hmm... I left a comment on this asking how it answered the question, the answerer never edited or responded. Some 15 or so people upvoted the comment. Why was the comment removed? interpersonal.stackexchange.com/a/13201/59

+1. This question isn't really awkward anymore. — LastStar007 1 min ago

Matched regex(es) ["+1"]

3:56 PM
@apaul There's already a comment there stating that it doesn't answer the question, which does (IMO) a better job of also explaining why not. HDE already moved the comments to chat, so any discussion that happens after that is likely to be deleted.

@Tinkeringbell Lock-stepped already, I see.

@apaul I'm getting up to speed, yes

@apaul I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

user15026
@apaul I'm not sure why you're verging on rudeness here.

4:11 PM
@Ash Did you read the answer, and the comment I was referring to?

user15026
I read the answer, I can't see deleted comments.

user15026
But even if you disagree, the rudeness isn't necessary.

Right... Almost forgot that the veneer is more important round here.

Is it me or does this question feel really contrived? interpersonal.stackexchange.com/questions/13464/…
Maybe the world is less mature than I think, but "give me free stuff", "no", "I'm offended", seems really irrational, and then to ask how to not offend such people seems odd in itself.

user15026
I personally don't see it as something that would be a problem but then again, I've had neighbours where they've not taken things like this very nicely. So I can see a potential for the OP to kinda be stuck, especially if they want to keep the peace with their neighbours.

4:24 PM
I don't think they really mean they expect severe offense.
The neighbors might see it as something that's moderately useful and has no downside, so why not be okay with it?
Kind of in the vein of "mind if I use your bathroom?"

user15026
Yeah, it might just be that the neighbours don't understand the risks the OP is taking because they are like "well we wouldn't do anything bad with it" but the OP can't know that for sure.

I get it if it were like my MIL or something who has some degree of familial entitlement, but for a neighbor who just happens to live nearby to feel entitled to anything of mine is concerning

@Stacey Lemme tell you stories.... :P
Sometimes, they do

user15026
I don't think it's really entitlement so much as "you have a thing, I could use that thing with no obvious harm to anyone, let's share"

user15026
(Kinda like how I share the wifi with my upstairs landlord, but we have agreements on how and what and all that)

4:27 PM
Maybe they live in a world where internet is cheap and uncapped. I have neither.

user15026
Could be they don't know that people could have limited bandwidth etc

@Stacey We have a unlimited, relatively cheap and speedy internet connection. But since everything is cheap, no-one ever asks for the wifi password, they all use 4G on their phones if needed

@Stacey Possibly - there are the beginnings of the thought that internet access should be considered as a basic human right in some places

user15026
I think the OPs wording makes it sound a little more intense than it potentially is, but I can understand wanting to have that conversation

I think what makes this a more difficult conversation is the fact that there's an undertone of 'I don't trust you' in it...

user15026
4:29 PM
Yeah, that would make it trickier, for sure.

Well obviously i don't get it. The top answer looks fine to me and is still offensive somehow?
How much more polite can one get?

user15026
And I think that's really what the question is about - it's not really about the internet sharing per se, as it is a question of "how do I say no without implying it's due to not trusting them"

@Ash Which is why 'we don't connect devices we don't own' is a tricky thing

user15026
@Tinkeringbell Exactly - because it becomes a "but why, don't you trust me?" situation real fast

Maybe this is why I need IPS help but I certainly didn't get that impression when I read it? Maybe an explicit thing about trust should be included somewhere

user15026
4:32 PM
Yeah, it might help to suggest they add something like that, to clarify why just saying no isn't enough in this situation

"...without causing offense, e.g. by implying I don't trust them?"

I think the solution for a small while would be to say "The wifi is down. Wanna play ball?" Or something like that. Figure something out later...
But thats just me and my procrastinating.

user15026
@Pheo This doesn't fix it though, it just delays the problem

user15026
That's not a helpful solution

also it's gonna be real hard to make that believable in a lot of situations

4:36 PM
@Cascabel I guess that would be hard in some cases, e.g. somebody spills the beans.

Or the adults are sitting around the dinner table and want the kids to entertain themselves, and so you'd have to either manage to tell other parents what their kids should be doing instead of using their phones, or give up on chatting among the adults?

@Cascabel hmm... This is a difficult dilemma.

@Pheo I most certainly didn't mean that as a judgment on the kids.

user15026
@Pheo I don't think that's true at all

user15026
(Also we've been saying variations on that since the written word started being a thing)

4:40 PM
FWIW if the OP happens to be in the US, we're in this sort of odd in between state where most people have no serious data limit on home internet, but do have capped mobile data, so it's actually really common and legitimate to want to get on the wifi.

user15026
For sure - phone data can add up fast.

I think the best solution is the first answer, with just one thing changed. Don't make excuses. Seem sincere, without tossing around info.

user15026
I mean there's always the "why don't you get your own internet" but we don't know the neighbours' situation.

(I know a lot of other countries have either better unlimited mobile plans or have home data caps, so it'd make less sense there.)
@Ash I'm guessing they're just not in easy range of their own wifi.

@Ash I kinda dislike that one comment not getting answered. It does make it much harder.

4:41 PM
Goodness me I'm old-fashioned then, I'm definitely not as dependant on the internet. How do people cope when there is none available? Or is that unheard of nowadays?

user15026
Oh, I missed the "over to visit" bit

@Stacey Very heard of these days. Just gotta be good at something other then playing online games.

user15026
@Stacey Oh, no, it's a thing in some places (I work for a rural based ISP, there are lots of areas where the internet does not reach, or does not reach well)

@Stacey I don't think it's helpful to turn this into an absolute matter of coping without? It's kind of like saying "can't those kids cope without playing a game?" I'm sure they could, but if it's possible it's not that unreasonable to want it.

Give them a board game.

4:44 PM
Like Ash said, people have been complaining about "kids these days" forever, let's not get overly judgmental.

user15026
Also, we're assuming its for kid-entertainment. Maybe it's so they can get important emails or maybe they're on call for work and they use Slack or somesuch for contact

There's nothing wrong with asking but it seems pretty entitled to take offence when the answer is no. @Pheo that's probably a good answer

@Stacey I think it is the best, if we are worried about security issues :P

No, that's an answer that involves trying to tell the neighbors what their kids should and shouldn't do for fun while they're over.
And it potentially involves having to have things for kids of the neighbors' age when the OP doesn't necessarily even have kids, not always easy.

@Cascabel Can we assume there is no perfect answer?

user15026
4:46 PM
Sure, but try to address what the OP is actually asking for - how to deal with the asking.

@Pheo I'm sure there's not, but actually answering what the OP asked seems better than trying to come up with very situational ways to sidestep it.

user15026
Instead of saying "dont use the internet"

@Stacey see above about data caps or lack thereof, and also the bathroom analogy. There are places (like where I live) where for most people, sharing the internet costs nothing, so basically the only reason not to share is if you don't trust them in some way.

It certainly feels like it to me (hence my answer) but mine has already been downvoted so obviously I'm out of the loop on this one.

I think this is out of scope for IPS - unless the person starts making excuses and whatnot.

user15026
4:47 PM
@Cascabel I mean there's also the "I am giving you a thing I have to pay for" aspect

@Ash right but it's not actually giving it up.

user15026
@Pheo I disagree, its very much an interpersonal issue

@Stacey You can never be out of the loop.

@Pheo "tell them to play a board game instead" is heading toward out of IPS scope, but dealing with the actual question isn't at all.

I think this is too broad. We are all speculating and need more info before actually answering

4:49 PM
So what would we do? Put a filter on the WIFI, or take it down?

I'm seemingly in a very different culture from the USA one

There are comments asking the OP for clarification/confirmation, but there is absolutely a part of the world where the question makes sense as-is.

user15026
Basically, it's "I have a thing, people want me to share this thing, I do not wish to share it, how can I politely express I don't wish to share this thing that is commonly easily shared"

@Cascabel then a country/region tag would be useful

user15026
@Pheo That's not an IPS solution

4:50 PM
@Stacey Yep! There's no info on whether or not anything was tried already (and if that caused offense)... There's no part of the world where this is playing, so people can only guess why they're afraid of the neighbors taking offense... OP commented that 'they could remove the part about neighbors'.. :/

@Ash Ah... now we have simplified it to something more basic.

@Stacey Sure. There are multiple ways to clarify. It's just... a lot of this wasn't really speculation, like the IPS answer vs not, or the fact that the OP is almost certainly not just dealing with entitled jerks.
@Ash yeah, basically, with an added dash of "it's maybe not even really sharing".
(Without data caps etc, it's more like you bought a dozen bagels and only want six and they're hungry.)

@Cascabel well internet availability/cost is one, if the op is worried about not being trusted is another.

user15026
@Cascabel yep, for sure

We can't share it and then stop, that would cause offense, and questions. We can't stop, that was supposed in the question that would cause offense. We can't just let them use it, that would be a security risk... It seems like a gamble to me.

4:53 PM
@Stacey Sure, wait for clarification if you like. I'm mostly just saying, between the two choices, neighbors are jerks, or wifi sharing is normal, occam's razor favors the latter.
No need to assume anyone's being bad here, as much of the discussion seemed to.

Can we just use the ancient saying "go with your gut"?

user15026
@Pheo That doesn't help

@Ash But it doesn't harm either.

user15026
It's not an answer!

It's avoiding the real question...

user15026
4:57 PM
It is just saying "do what you think is right" which....if the OP knew what to do, they'd not be here asking

Communication was always a little difficult for me. Several answers, often more than one is right, but one is best, and which one is best is dependant on the situation...

@Cascabel that's why I deleted my answer. When I wrote it I didn't have internet sharing as the norm in my pov because it isn't where I live.

No "always" right answer.

@Stacey cool cool, sorry about the misunderstandings.

@Cascabel so neighbors are jerks was the only option.

5:02 PM
How would you guys feel about any of the following being an RO: Rainbacon, sphennings , M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ, Pheo
@sphennings were you going to run for RO? It looked like you were just tossing a joke.

user15026
I don't know if is "running" so much as indicating interest

user15026
I figure the mods will pick people that they feel suit the role and all will be well :)

I don't know if I personally want to start rating people in public, I'm content to let the mods discuss it in private.

user15026
nods Same, no need to make a big thing of it - that sort of thing is only likely to lead to hurt feelings somewhere

@Cascabel @Ash Thats fine with me.
Well, can you tell me what you are looking for in a potential RO?

user15026
5:15 PM
I'm not looking for anything, I'm not a mod here so I don't know what they're looking for

user15026
I mod a different site, I just like hanging out in this chat room

@Rainbacon did you manage to make progress on your question?
@Pheo meta.stackexchange.com/questions/271267/… Take a look at that. It describes the powers an RO has and the expectations placed upon them. @Rainbacon @sphennings @M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ might wanna take a look at that too, if they've never seen it before :)
And if after reading it, more people are interested, hats can be thrown in utnil Tuesday 11:59 PM

@Tinkeringbell I read that post last night before I threw my name into consideration

@Rainbacon Oh good! :)

@Tinkeringbell I have to admit that nothing is new here to me: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/271267/… other than the last paragraph.

5:21 PM
... that means 11:59 pm... which is probably not clear.

@Catija what do you mean?

I'm going to abuse my moderator-always-edit-chat-messages powers! :D

@Tinkeringbell I haven't had much time to think about my question, but I did notice last night when I tried to empathize with my girlfriend (she's currently got a bad cold), I told her I was sorry that she's sick and her response was that it's not my fault.

@Rainbacon ;) Maybe you could focus it a little on the circumstances in which it implies empathy and when it does not, and just sounds weird? That's going to be a hard question to not be opinion based though

@Catija @Tinkeringbell I was expressing my interest in being a RO yesterday.

5:27 PM
Yeah, it got me thinking about asking a question about how I could better do that. Such a question, while a good one, wouldn't be the type of question I'm wanting to see more of

@sphennings I know, I noted it :D

OK.

I was too

I would say that good ROing (and modding, for that matter) is far more about being able to deal with people and situations than being familiar with the tools.
(sort of indirectly replying to a lot of things above)

@Cascabel in theory IPS should have a lot of good candidates for being ROs

5:33 PM
@Tinkeringbell I may have used this to edit a thing I posted in Worldbuilding in December :P

@Cascabel You're right, there's that too :)
@Rainbacon biomedsearch.com/article/… might be worth a read ;)

@Tinkeringbell looks like a great article. I'll give it a read

5:48 PM
@Tinkeringbell I've read it prolly 231 times

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I bet you have

@Pheo how can you be surer about what I did than me?
@AJ would be proud
@Tink I'm a meta guru, which means I have wasted time reading words that mean little outside of the scope of a site. You can trust I've read everything on meta.SE unless it's from 2009

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I know people better then they know themselves sometimes. Happens when you are a multi-generational being.

@Pheo you were born four scores and seven years ago?

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Around there, yes. I'm assuming you have heard of phoenixes?

5:56 PM
So many things have been called Phoenix, I dunno

The fire-bird? (Not the place)

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Ah. That's kinda excessive ;)
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ when do you think you'll be catched up to 2009 as well? :p

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ these cousins of mine: google.com/…
Well, a few of them

A J
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ for what?

12 mins ago, by M.A.R. ಠ_ಠ
@Pheo how can you be surer about what I did than me?

A J
6:04 PM
That's really not a thing to be proud of. :P

I am Frost.

A J
Has anybody ever tried lemon tea witb ginger powder? Really cures the cold. I took one cup and I am feeling better already.

user15026
I have a lemon ginger instant tea thing (it's these crystals you add to hot water) that seem to work really well when I have a cold

A J
Ohh.

Methinks it's the vitamin C?

user15026
6:14 PM
That and I think the ginger too

user15026
I think all of that stuff kinda helps clear things out

Ginger is related to turmeric. Might be why the ginger helps.

A J
The bad thing in it that is it makes tongue feel funny.
@Pheo You can add trumeric powder to milk. It also helps in cold and if you have wounds it will work as antibiotic.

user15026
Yep. I also have a tea with turmeric :)

user15026
(I own a lot of varieties of tea....)

6:18 PM
@AJ Seems like something to write down.

A J
Cool!

Anyone here good at Snakes and Apples?

user15026
(There is a European grocery near my house and they have this wall of tea and I swear there is a tea for anything that ails you. Some work better than others)

A J
@Pheo I can suggest many things for small diseases which will be very effective and you won't have to take any medicines unless it is really emergency.
@Pheo only apples
Anyway I have to go to bed. GN. :)

@AJ Grateful Narcotics

Sid
6:23 PM
@AJ You are a mod, now. No sleeping early for you. :P

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ cough calling people out is kinda discouraged

@Mithrandir okay, now I just forgot what I wrote

@AJ Sleep well!
@Ash And yet I still can't find that one tea I'd love to have :P

BTW, @Tink I was active for two years on Chem's chat before I deserved the RO position. I was hoping you didn't take my hat throwing seriously
@Tinkeringbell green tea. Green tea is awesome

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Well, if you tell me not to ;)

6:27 PM
@Mithrandir oh, that message. Whatever

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Mom once had a kind of tea that you could put in cold water. Nothing better on a hot summer day than water from the fridge with one of those teabags

user15026
@Tinkeringbell oh, interesting - most teas I know that you do iced, they require you to brew them hot and cool them.

@Tinkeringbell lemon could be like that

Sid
I am desperate for a fridge. :(

@Ash Yep. And they're often not as nice, although I know one shop that sells a really sweet iced tea, with jasmin, mint and rosewater IIRC
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Nah, this had more taste than just lemon, although lemon is fine too

user15026
6:32 PM
@Tinkeringbell that sounds like it would be good

Reviewers: I'm still getting a feeling that this question isn't actually an IPS question in its current form. What do y'all think?

@Mithrandir I should say stuff like that in any chat except this one

Q: How to deal with people ganging up on me when they have complaints?

DragonI have social anxiety, and this has been getting in the way of me interacting with my friends. A particularly problematic event is when one of them have a complaint, and then when I'm taking to them about said complaint, the others pick up, and then I panic and surrender, which only makes everyon...

@Mithrandir Too broad. Too too broad

user15026
tHuh, @Tinkeringbell, I am researching this now and I have found a few brands online that have what tehy call "cold brew" tea bags, meant for cold water!

6:35 PM
Meant for cold water?
Take me away, the world is too diverse!

@Ash So it still exists???? Gimme a Link NOW!
I never thought of googling.. :/ just ransacked stores in real life looking for it :/
Does it ship to the Netherlands? :p

user15026
@Tinkeringbell It does! I searched on Amazon for "cold brew tea bags" and you get some options

user15026
(you have to ignore the other things like stuff for making nut milk but there are some options, let me find some links)

Seriously, y'all... cold brew tea is used in the South a lot for iced tea :P

It probably wasn't popular enough here, since no one seems to be selling it anymore!

user15026

user15026

user15026
Lots of options! Not sure if they ship to you or not.

user15026
(also didn't really check cost, more just proof of concept)

They don't ship to here :(
Ah well, I've got some ideas on what I'll be doing tonight! ;)

user15026
6:43 PM
At least you know what sorts of things to look for

A J
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Grace Note. :P

@Ash Yeah! Thanks a lot :D

user15026
No problem, I like helping people find stuff like this

BTW, your avatar is redundant now @AJ. Two blue AJs are one too many

Sid
6:45 PM
Humph, can anyone say what's the best food to eat/drink to pull an all nighter?
Other than coffee, of course.

More coffee
Don't do stuff like that, it's not healthy

Pasta, sauce, and cheese

I've learned you should take your body clock seriously

Sid
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ well, ideally I shouldn't have to. But, it's kind of necessary now if I want to clear my tests...

@Sid oh, Good bless you
@Mithrandir that only keeps old wizards awake
Exciting catchy music
Like Geometry dash soundtrack

Sid
6:50 PM
@Mithrandir Eh, not sure I will get Pasta and Cheese at 1AM anywhere...

@Sid whenever I had to do something like this, I just pushed through it by getting into work. I never worried about whether or not I'd feel sleepy
Just get studying, and when you got to a satisfactory understanding of your lessons, it's whatever a.m. anyway

Q: How to tell people NOT to use a nickname for me

Not TomMy name is Thomas. People often call me Tom, as that is a standard nickname for Thomas. However, I have always gone by my full name. I don't identify with the name Tom. When it is used, I have to consciously remind myself that this name is referring to me and not someone else. It's not something...

@ExtrovertedMainMan would interpersonal.stackexchange.com/q/10729/1599 be close enough for a dupe?
Even though it's opposite, it's still about preferred names...

7:48 PM
There's some tension between closing things like that as dupes and the way everyone always asks for all the details. If those details are truly necessary in order to answer the questions, then presumably different details would mean different answers, so it's hard to actually get exact dupes?

@Cascabel Yeah, I know... And I'm not as free to vote as I was anyways
I was just wondering if details like this mattered enough ;)

I tend to think the details often don't matter as much as suggested by all the comments asking for them, and this could well be a dupe, but maybe it's hard to actually take any drama-free action without some meta efforts.

On Chem, knowing what reaction is being discussed is usually vital to answering the question, but not to choosing a dupe
You can usually omit the details

Yeah, I think the details often actually don't affect the answers tons, and dupes like this are relatively safe, but I don't think the site is quite to where there's collective agreement about that, so dupe closures seem really prone to "but those aren't the same question" drama.

And then there's the argument that if something is an answer to two questions, one is the dupe of the other no matter what, and the opposite argument that distinctive questions shouldn't be duped no matter what
I've been on both sides, but now I'm on the former
People should just stop worrying about duplication

8:00 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ As far as I'm aware, the former is the working definition. It is worth mentioning that dupes are good!

Unfortunately, SE categorizing dupes as closed questions both makes sense and doesn't help

You have to be careful about the "something is an answer to the question" thing - usually it works a little better to say "B is a dupe of A if any decent answer to question A will clearly/thoroughly answer B"

@Cascabel yeah, 'course

@Cascabel ...although perhaps not to the extent that Scifi.SE takes that.

There's a lot of ugly cases that crop up where the answer is incidentally included in just one answer on the potential dupe target, or it's buried, or it's only half-present cause it wasn't the core question, or...

8:09 PM
@Cascabel grey. I hate grey
@Mithrandir24601 which one of you is cooler? You, or @Mith no numbers?

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Depends on what you mean by that - I have a wide variety of unusual interests obsessions, but at the same time, I'm definitely not the most extroverted person ever. That I'm trying to figure out exactly what you mean and answer using logic and reasoning probably means that answer is not me :P

@Mithrandir24601 I don't think he meant "who is the most extroverted"

@Pheo Let me rephrase then: I'm not someone people would normally call 'cool' and most of my friends are not people that would be called 'cool', but this could be because I don't really understand what the word 'cool' is supposed to mean

Huh, some real IPS stuff I did up there

'bunch of nerds' is a better description for the groups of people that I spend most time with

@Mithrandir24601 you'd be surprised. @Mith no numbers is terribly logical, which makes sense since he's my bot account used for posting mod stuff in chat

@Mithrandir24601 Do you honestly think I'm less of a nerd?

@Mithrandir24601 nerds run the place

@Mithrandir I have no idea

I've got 20k on Science Fiction & Fantasy, I think I qualify as a nerd ;P

Nerds are cool

8:17 PM
@Mithrandir Yeah, that counts :)

@Mithrandir No, just a bookworm. There's a difference
Your rep on Lit might help
Only might

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ alright, 7.4k on Literature and 1.6k on M&TV for good measure as well

@Mithrandir24601 I must say the same thing about myself.

...i'm looking through a bunch of old reviews and a script that adds a "timeline" link to posts would be very helpful

8:19 PM
@Mithrandir you don't have much rep on Chem though :(
@Mithrandir there's one. SE modifications, I think

As an example, I do swordfighting (actual, historical swordfighting, not sport fencing) - is this a nerdy thing (I spend lots of time with videos of people explaining abstract concepts from a few centuries ago, on in the background) or a 'cool' thing (playing with swords is playing with swords, after all, although 'playing' maybe isn't the best word)?

@Cascabel THANK YOU
and thanks @art

Sid
@Mithrandir24601 you do sword-fighting? Remind me to not be on your bad side..

@Sid It's great fun! I'm not exactly very good though :P

@Mithrandir I think this'd do as well stackapps.com/questions/2138/…

Markdown, I usually love you, but I hate you right now

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ ¿Por que?

No, not pork, markdown

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ "¿Por que?" is spanish for "why?"
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Why do you hate markdown?

And I hate it right now, not airways
Always
I hate autocorrect more

Oh you tried escaping it and it was already escaped by the `

@Mithrandir Heh, good to see stuff I'd forgotten about being useful

@ArtOfCode I'd love to know all you have in there.

Literally just look at the repo, you see the same as I do

Dang it chrome.

Time to drop a music video by someone who I'm sure everyone in the room is familiar with by now:

@baldPrussian Agreed. And our mutual friend here needs to get out pronto. Let us encourage that, at least for our consciences sake! — Sentinel 8 secs ago
