anybody here eat vegetables?

A J
I do.

nice :)
do you think that ...

A J
what?

if i ate only vegetables for a week or so ... would it be unhealthy?

user15026
@D.Hutchinson I would guess a lot of people do yes

5:22 AM
Oo I see ...
I'm considering "detoxing" for a week ...
no meat, no sugar, no carbs

user15026
@D.Hutchinson if you balanced your diet carefully, likely not?

just veggies
:)
@Ash I don't want balance - I want detox, for a week or two ...
is that ok?

A J
@D.Hutchinson No. I don't think so.

or is that dangerous?

user15026
@D.Hutchinson likely not, if you deprive yourself of things your body needs

A J
5:24 AM
But it depends on your body, actually.

user15026
(there are plant based ways to eat and get what your body needs)

I see ...

user15026
In general, making massive unresearched diet changes at seemingly random for larger periods of time is...not a good idea

A J
@Ash agreed.

user15026
If you don't know how to do things in a safe and healthy way you probaby shouldn't

A J
5:25 AM
start with less and increase it gradually.

user15026
And asking a bunch of people who are effectively random internet strangers who likely aren't dieticians or nutritionists isn't the best way to do this either

true :(

user15026
(also, "detox" type diets tend to do more harm than good because just cutting out things without understanding what you are doing and what your body actually needs to be healthy is kinda dangerous)

I see ...

user15026
I'd maaaaaybe do some research first. From like...reputable sources, not just random google results

user15026
5:28 AM
There are a lot of fad type detox things out there that can really screw up your body

user15026
The fact that you go "I don't want balance I want detox" is already raising red flags

yeah ...

user15026
It doesn't sound like you have really thought about or planned this or researched it

the thought being that "it's only a week of hell"
yeah ...

user15026
Yeah but chances are you do it and you don't get whatever results you wanted from this supposed detox, you just end up feeling shitty and half starving yourself

5:30 AM
yeah ...

user15026
So maybe do some research and planning first? Before making decisions that could hurt you?

yeah ... but it's like ... I had sautéed veggies for dinner (
brocolli, green peppers, cabbage, snow peas, mushrooms, carrots, and celery) and so it's like ... I'm already like one hour into my detox :) 90 more hours to go - I'm almost there ...
haha ...
24 x 7 = 168 hours ... oops
167 more hours to go ... ugh ...

user15026
Well...its your body I guess

yeah, I won't detox ... it's probably bad ...

user15026
I'm not saying don't, I'm saying do it after you have looked into a safe way to do what you want to do that isn't just a random passing fancy

5:37 AM
Oo I see ...

5:59 AM
@ash it's to prepare for a date :)
veggies, orange juice, green tea, vitamins,
haircut ...
ok, if I add some chicken everyday, it should be fine :)
chicken breast, specifically ...
no pasta, no rice, no bread ...

7:00 AM
@Mithrandir it can also be viewed as an etiquette question, too, no?
social dynamics of gift-giving
eh, I could be putting words in the OP's mouth, though ...

> If someone is spitting behind you, it means you're in front.

huh?
I don't get it ...
of course the person would be in front - is there a joke meaning to this?

A J
Yes, it's a joke

what's the joke meaning?
i don't understand it ...

A J
never mind it

Q: How to shut someone up while being only mildly offensive when they incessantly criticize my house?

ab2I know I am close to OCD about being averse to clutter. I put things away in their designated drawer or shelf, or throw (or give) them away if we are unlikely to use them again. That is, I am a neatnik to extremes, I admit it. I have a couple of in-laws who repeatedly say things like Yo...

Q: Should someone once in a vulnerable state learn the truth and how?

oupoupA very close friend of mine, let's call him David, in his mid-thirties has just (1 year and a half) recovered from a very hard and horrifying for his environment state of drug abuse and isolation that lasted more than 10 years in a culminating manner. With a strong physique (former martial arts a...
