Things that make you go ughhh...
49 out right now. After 14 last Sunday.
@apaul sorry to cut you off here ;) If you want to have that kind of discussion it might be better to find a private venue of conversation with Snark. That will avoid other people chiming in and things getting cut off ;)
@AdamLear Nice and warm down here at the moment. The time of year that makes FL tolerable.
@Tinkeringbell Wight, southwest 4 or 5. Drizzle. Moderate, occasionally poor.
@Tinkeringbell Probably for the best... It started out in a good place and then nose dived.
22:03
Weather is weird here too... One night freezing and the other I'm washing out of bed with sweat
At least we have more than six hours of daylight per day again.
:42250589 Well, I guess that's one form of the sailor's tongue...
@Loong I'm still waiting for the day at least half of my commute isn't spend in the dark
@Catija I'm sorry..
What's that supposed to mean? Translate doesn't help
@Tinkeringbell My office doesn't have a window. If I wouldn't go outside during my lunch break, I would miss the daylight completely.
@Loong I think that would be a crime here... No windows 😉
22:07
You said "swear"... and sailors are famous for having dirty mouths... "swear like a sailor" and such.
@Catija ah but that was a typo. ;) Hahaha
@Tinkeringbell Yeah I know. There is actually a story about that issue in your country in our company. :-)
But it was funny.
I'm not getting out of bed swearing ;)
@Tinkeringbell oh but I liked the image of someone being washed out of bed with expletives
22:08
@Catija obviously :D
@ArtOfCode it needs a cartoon ;)
@Tinkeringbell I usually do. Mornings are a terrible thing. ;)
@AdamLear that's why I sleep till afternoon :P
@Loong really? Care to share?
@AdamLear Is the swearing occasionally in the direction of your cat?
@Catija he has a cat?
Time to stalk the profile and upvote everything
A very awesome one, in fact.
22:13
@Tinkeringbell When we built the power plant in Borssele, it had to be designed against airplane crash. But according to your law, the office workplace must have a window. So the main control room has got a tiny window.
@Catija make that twice then 😋
@Loong hahahaha cool!
How tiny?
And you actually built that one? Cool job :D
I don't know. But it is in a thick reinforced concrete wall. So not very useful.
No I didn't build Borssele. I am not that old.
I am building a different one.
@Loong still a cool job then 😋
@Loong of course not ;) it's probably just big enough to placate the law
Here, we don't have such a law.
On the other hand, the office building here has three saunas.
Maybe there is a law for that.
@Loong I'm not made for sauna's. I always feel like I'm suffocating when I enter one. But it does sound awesome. Any more interesting features?
22:26
@Catija Usually both of them, yes. Furry jerks.
Adorable, but they make getting up and out of bed an ordeal. :)
@AdamLear But they're so cute!
I bet they're like burrs when it's cold.
Yeah, the grey one will actually slink under the covers and curl up when it's cold. It's ridiculous.
Awww, I miss that so much. If you get tired of them, feel free to send them my way... not that we get many cold days here.
Haha thanks, but I think my wife would object to me sending them away.
My husband's allergies would probably complain, too.
22:31
I guess this just isn't meant to be. :P

Q: Responding to being told to "smile" by a stranger?

Jess K.This seems to be a fairly common scenario (primarily for women). Since I don't work in a public environment anymore, it's been something that hasn't crossed my mind in a long while. However, today while paying for a few items at the gas station the guy working the register decided to strike up...

On that note, I am calling it a day/week. Y'all have a good one.
@AdamLear you too.
user15026
@Catija You should find one of those cat cafes or something to get some cat snuggle time in :)
@Ash I should... They have one here, I think... but eh.
22:39
It's gonna be a good weekend at work!
user15026
If you lived anywhere near me I'd say come visit me and Norbert. He will snuggle anyone, he's a very affectionate kitty.
user15026
@apaul oh?
@Ash Um... lemmie check flights.
... eh... I guess I can't really do that, though. :P
user15026
hahaha I suppose not
Get to work with one of my favorite groups, it's a weekend camp for amputee kids. Best bunch of kids we get all year.
22:44
@apaul Sweet!
@Ash Particularly since I still haven't gotten Ben a passport.
@Ash I discovered my cousins have cats a couple weeks ago... now I just need enough excuses to visit them
user15026
@Catija That's definitely going to make it harder
user15026
@apaul Awesome :)
@Ash Maybe I'll do it this weekend... but OMG it's such a slow process... all of the post offices are slammed... there has got to be a better way.
I mean, get all the paperwork together.
user15026
Paperwork is no fun
22:56
... yeah, I guess I have no room to complain :P
user15026
Hahaha ah, no, complain away :) Paperwork sucks no matter what.
The paperwork for this is the simple part... particularly for a child... but they don't have appointments, so you have to go and sit around half of the day hoping to be seen.
23:12
@Ash The other groups this weekend are substantially less awesome.
