@JonathanReez true, it is a joke!
I come from a country where most people are vaccinated, and then I had to quarantine in indonesia for 5 days, and my wife wasnt allowed to send me food to the hotel. while indonesia at the time is messed up with covid cases and almost no one was vaccinated.
it is a big joke to me.

@JonathanReez No - quarantines are to delay spread until sufficient numbers are vaccinated, and to avoid overloading hospitals
This is what they got so wrong in the UK - the NHS was so overloaded, there were no beds in many regions for non-covid patients, let alone those dying from covid
Quarantining folks coming in from areas with high numbers of Delta variant would have helped a lot - the UK failed at that
@NeanDerThal That is a really dumb version of quarantine - why wouldn't they let you have food
@JonathanReez You know vaccination is not 100% and negative test is also not 100% useful, right?
My whole family was vaccinated, and testing negative. Then we tested positive. Luckily we didn't go anywhere or see anyone in between, otherwise we may have passed it on. And we are still recovering nearly 2 months later - breathing difficulties, fatigue, pain...not good

@RoryAlsop my condolences to your family. I've heard that getting a vaccine shot is helpful for Long COVID. Any chance you could ask for a booster wherever you live?

@RoryAlsop I had COVID 13 months ago, up to now I am suffering from the body pains and fatigue. It is less now, but still. I am not the same.

Yep. It's pretty horrible. I'm so glad we got vaccinated, otherwise it would have been much worse. I lost too many friends to covid before vaccinations were available
