Q: Are old school Martial arts films considered SciFi/Fantasy?

Charles BertrandWhen you have people whose skin is indestructible, or who can poke holes in walls with just their fingers, or who can run up walls and seemingly float or fly, would that be considered SciFi/Fantasy? (and, thus, appropriate for this forum?) I was trying to connect and old-school Hong Kong movie t...

Ugh. I've got to stop looking. Answer: "[they] eat the corpses that would otherwise spread disease." Response: "How eat the living would spread epidemics?"
You can't convince me that response is in good faith.

Q: Looking for a movie that has punching through walls, reflected energy and indestructible skin (and scenes used in Kill Bill)

Charles BertrandOkay, I am going to take the answer in SciFi/Fantasy meta (Are old school Martial arts films considered SciFi/Fantasy?) as permission to ask about a martial arts film with iron skinned fighters who can knock holes in walls with their fingers. When I was much younger, I remember seeing an old-scho...

Q: Sudden increase in intelligence

WGroleauTitle and/or author of a book or story?  Backstory is that our solar system has been in an energy field that suppresses thought. Humans and all other animals evolved the level of intelligence they needed in spite of it. The actual story starts when our solar system exited the field. Suddenly e...

@Marvin “When you have people […] who can poke holes in walls” It depends. If that's located in the U.S. in universe then it's not fantasy. Americans have odd ideas about architecture, they think a flimsy sheet of drywall is suitable for an outer wall of a house.

Q: Fifties SF - No concept of a ghoul

Mike StoneI am trying to recall a short (?) story, probably 1950s, which included a passage on the following lines "Graves in a cemetery dug up. Corpses eaten [Horrible] but it's merely a ghoul. [But] if there were no idea of a ghoul, and no concept of one. Then dug-up half-eaten corpses are found. Nameles...

Q: Why didn't the Jedi wear armour?

shanuJedi are known for wearing robes with hoods, and though it looks cool, I am pretty sure it doesn't provide any protection to blaster bolts. Now I know the Jedi can deflect blaster bolts with their lightsabres, and all of Obi-Wan's 'uncivilized' thing but I am pretty sure armour would have been ef...

@Marvin Because "beskar" hadn't been invented yet when the Jedi were created?

Q: Manhwa about a girl who was adopted to be used for her power, but then her past life self helped her run away when she unlocked her spirit power

ClaireThe manhwa is about a girl who was adopted because she was the most likely to be a spirit user. Her "father" kept asking about it every day and hitting her when she said that she did not. And her "brother" kept using her as a shield to avoid his father's beatings. Then herself from her past life ...

Q: Manhwa - the fl keeps repeating the day when her brother kills her

PipiabatIn this Manhwa, the (blonde?) female lead is a princess and lives alone in her palace. She has various brothers; one has long (white or green) hair and has the power to use plants. Another one of her brothers, a black haired tyrant, one days kills her because she can't properly answer his questio...

Q: Movie with Alien or Orc Creatures, Bred for Violence Scene

TurboThis is driving me crazy, because I know I've gotten wires crossed in my head. A lot of the scene has been mixed with the Uruk-Hai spawning scene in Lord of the Rings, which I've rewatched and it doesn't match (unless it's some deleted scene?) I watched this probably in the last 5-6 years. Full c...

Q: Are the DC webcomics part of a larger canon?

LaurelThere are three DC webcomics I know about: Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Vixen: NYC Zatanna & the Ripper (All ongoing, free-to-read series on WEBTOON.) It's not clear to me where they stand in relation to other DC works, or even in relation to each other. They clearly reference the greater DC...

Q: Theatre practitioners book

AmeliaI'm looking for a book that I used to own and can not find. I think it was American, I had a hardback copy, it was blue and I think it had a black and white photo of actors/directors on the cover. It was a practitioners handbook on producing and directing plays, I think it was written in the 70's...

Q: Identifying this artwork source (and artist) of a 'future human' (NSFW)

SamzerI am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I am trying to find the source and artist of this particular grotesque vision of what a future human would look like. I have reverse searched this picture and the result tends to be from science magazines, but I forgot what, nor does it give a ...

Q: What children’s tv show was this?

GuestIn the 1990s / possibly very early 2000s there was a children’s tv show shown on either BBC1 or ITV. It would have lasted approx 25 mins per episode and was shown in the late afternoon approx 4pm. All I can remember is that it contained real problem as actors (not a cartoon or animation) and that...
