Q: Fantasy book about a princess who was mind-swapped with a cat by a witch

IzzyIn the '90s, I read a book about a princess whose governess was a witch that mind-swapped her and a cat. The governess did this so she could control the princess. The cat who had the princess' mind ran to another kingdom and became the pet of the prince. The main story is the puppet princess comi...

Q: Sci-fi puzzle/game book involving an alien world/planet

Katja Oakley-BellI'm looking for a book I remember loving as a child. I borrowed it from the library several times, I believe between 2000 and 2009, but I imagine it was published a while before this. It was an A4 (I think), full-colour puzzle/game book set in an alien world/planet. There was a running story, I ...

Q: Why did no one notice the ghost's absence?

AdamantIn the series Boo Bitch, we find out that has been killed and has only been present as a ghost for the whole show, with only Erika and Gavin able to see her due to their relation to her unfinished business (along with Gavin's apparent ghost-viewing powers). Apparently, Gia had no friends except ...

Q: What sci-fi movie used a tuning fork to open/close the spaceship's doors?

Fuzzy JonesI cannot remember the name of a late 1950's-early '60s sci-fi movie where humans enter an (abandoned?) alien ship and discover that the use of tuning forks open the large circular doors between passageways. The doors (I believe) rolled in and out of place.

Q: Power-ranger style show where characters could moprh using cards

toastI remember watching a TV-Show in a non-kids channel (i don't mean an adult one, but nothing similar to Cartoon Network) where protagonist and enemies could transform using morphing cards. Q: Need help identifying a young adult short story about barbaric duels on the surface of a moon

dhinson919I recently had a recollection of a short story that I was assigned to read while in an American middle school in the early '80s. Details are scarce sadly but I believe it may have come from a sci-fi anthology geared toward teenagers because I recall having a choice from a number of different sto...

@DavidW I would never categorize fantasy based on writing style, only on setting. I don't see separating fantasy in a rural setting from fantasy in an urban setting - if it's set in the modern day, or a world similar to the modern day (Anita Blake series, Anne Bishop's The Others series), then it is modern fantasy. Historical fantasy, and future fantasy are entirely different things. Traditional fantasy would be anything in entirely made up universe with no meaningful similarities to ours.

Q: Is there any explanation of physical matter in any of the time travelling concepts used in entertainment media?

Out of all the concepts of time travel, my question is related to concept of new timeline creation whenever something is changed in the past (Avengers: Endgame) or someone takes a different decision that what was supposed (...

Q: What determines your multiversal counterpart?

shanuSo we have been having a tsunami of multiverse movies in the past one year. But what intrigues me the most is how each film handles the multiverse in their own style. Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the last episode of Ms. Marvel, although I feel like the series really needs to decide whether they want to be a comedy or a drama because there was some real mood whiplash going on.
19:46
@FuzzyBoots I forgot all about that show!
Do you need to know anything going in?
I don't believe so, no. There's some MCU references, but it's all pretty well covered by the narrative. I never read the comic book, but I'm given to understand there were some major changes in her origin, and that of some of the supporting cast.
And, much like most of the MCU, it's apparently a bit more grounded, no Thomas Edison clones crossed with cockatoos.
@FuzzyBoots say what?

Q: Why did Pippin insist on joining Denethor's army?

ElfeNever mind the fact that it makes for a good (and nerve-wrecking, in my case) plot point, but why did the hobbit feel the need to take this drastic step?
