Q: What thing does Beverly show to Ben in a classroom?

Q: What Would Be The Best Order to Watch the Star Wars Animated Content

Gothamite24The shows I am talking about are: Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars Animated Adventures: Droids, Star Wars: Resistance, Star Wars: Ewoks, and Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.

Are the Terminator movies after 2 worth my time?

@Stormblessed 3 no, 4 meh, 5 and 6 aren't as good as the second one but still fun to watch

WVR Spence WestVirginiaRebelFriendship One was launched in 2067, but how could it have been done four years after WW3 even with Vulcan help?

Q: Why wasn't an army of Force-sensitive beings created?

user3399In The Rise of Skywalker we learn that This shows that it's possible to clone Force-sensitive beings. We also know, thanks to the Clone Wars show, that it's possible to Force complete obedience of a clone with a bit of tinkering. With those two pieces of information in mind, why didn't cr...

10:09
@Stormblessed I like the film, but I refuse to consider it as a "way to end the Skywalker Saga".
10:47
I was a bit sad the whole plot line about other Force-sensitive people that they teased in the previous film (TLJ) was thrown away

1 hour later…
11:52
@Gallifreyan I'm "sad" that Force powers went from a teachable skill (Ep. 4) to a magical birthright (Ep. 1) to, now, just a magical bloodline. Marking the total ascendancy of pure aristocracy. :-P
IMO, the whole bit with the bloodline, and the ultimate ending of the film, was completely unnecessary
One of the things I liked most about TLJ was the "your parents were nothing" part
I mean technically they still are/were
But now it's moot
So really, what we got in the end is still a retcon of TLJ
Yeah, which considering all things isn't too surprising
As in, film companies reverting to the good ol' story template of the original films?
12:00
They tried something new and it didn't work so yeah
Though I don't think this one was too samey
@Gallifreyan I completely agree. "Rich kid (her Force inheritance) makes good" is much less interesting than "complete nobody makes it big."
It certainly had it's throwbacks of course
Like the Emperor?
Seriously, did they need to bring him back? They couldn't think of anything else?
Yeah and the way they did was just terrible
@DavidW though I would've preferred "complete nobody is instrumental in inspiring hope throughout the Galaxy, while not being an overpowered Force user and single-handedly winning the war"
12:02
Opening line of the film: "GUESS WHO'S BAAAAACKKKK!!!????"
Star Wars has always had a comic-book plot, but it didn't need comic book "we can't kill any villains" logic.
Well it already had that from Maul really
Right, I forgot about Maul
@Gallifreyan That would have made it a vastly better story.
Likewise. I thought that was dumb too, naturally.
@DavidW And they laid the foundation for that really nicely in TLJ
12:03
They did kinda go OTT with the Force powers
From all the Force users
Hmm, I wonder if it's a symptom the same power escalation problem that you see all the time in comics and shared-world fiction.
I'd never thought about it in that light.
Ep.4: Force provides guidance and can move small objects.
Ep.5: Force can give foreseeing and move a spaceship.
etc.
It makes some sense for the escalation of powers: the Jedi order was far from its prime when we see it, and the baddies won partly because they were better prepared Force-wise. So the good guys had to up their game and get better at flinging rocks at each other as well
If only there'd been any sort of training and whatnot in between
But presumably the Ep.1 fights would have featured Jedi at the top of their game, fully trained (off-screen, justified) and able to do anything the Force allows. And yet we still have half-trained youth (Ren, Rey) able to do more powerful things.
Maybe it's because they're more trained that they can't do the more powerful things
Ren is a Dark side user so sort of explained why he can do more powerful things
Rey is untrained and so does some things accidentally because she can't control it
A true light side/Jedi wouldn't do half the things she does
It's a raw power vs. technique sort of thing
Think of Obi-Wan defeating Anakin
I don't think it's stated anywhere that they had the same level of midichlorians
@DavidW I'd argue the Jedi order as a whole, along with their training and everything was past its prime at that point. Obi-Wan and Qui Gon are exceptions, I'd say
12:15
They'd gotten too complacent when we see them in the prequels
Which, come to think of it, isn't the first time it happens, when one thinks of The Old Republic as well

Q: Where does Voldemort get the body from?

Q: Does Bilbo Baggins realize his ring was the One Ring?

Reinstate MonicaIn the infamous jumpscare scene, in the Fellowship of the Ring Bilbo says: "I'm sorry, that I brought this upon you, my boy... I'm sorry that you must carry this burden. I'm sorry for everything." He also gives Frodo his sword and mithril armor. Both of which imply that he knows of Frodo's...

Q: Rey removing compressor hurts Poe later?

Gavin NalanthiI read an article from screenrant that was about this subtle connection between ep7 and ep 9. The author says that because Rey removed the compressor in ep7 the MF is then badly damaged when Poe does the lightspeed skipping through several systems. Maybe I am missing something and I will admit I'...

But the most disappointing part about Rise of Skywalker was the victory kiss at the end.
I was hoping it would be Poe and Finn.

@FuzzyBoots You may want to check out scifi.stackexchange.com/q/190690/4918 , another story-id question for that Ijon Tichy story, then.
Is there an easy way to verify plagia for short story? I'm puzzle by a story my gf has a copy for a 12th grade student about "An old camera that take photos of a pinguin with a gun that come closer to the lens". While the idea is somehow quite common the style is too complexe for a 12th grade.
I usually just google a few of the sentences to see if I get a match.
You mean a plagiarism check?
Yeah, unless your institution subscribes to one of the services, Google is a really good bet.
It might be useful to search specifically in books.google.com, if you think the text is copied from something published.
But unless you have evidence that the student doesn't normally write at that level, it may just be an advanced student. I was writing far beyond my grade level. (Or at least I was capable of doing so, were I sufficiently inspired. :)
I was writing at a Charles Dickens level, when I copied one of his works and turned it in as my own.
15:12
@b_jonas Looks like someone got to it. :)

Q: Could Kylo Ren have killed this character at their first encounter?

user1841243At the end of the movie this happend: I'm not sure why only then, this happened. At their first encouter though, the situation was different. What would have happend if he decided to kill this character?

Greetings, Earthlings.
@FuzzyBoots No, it's still a dup chain, because you turned its dup target a duplicate.

Q: Where to find decorative/functional battle horns from LOTR

LorthasWould be cool to have functional and decorative horns inspired in LOTR, horns that you could make sound with and put them on the walls as decorative elements. I thought these kind of items would be for sale and wouldn't be hard to find, but it seems i was wrong and are practically inexistent. So,...

Q: Why did the Knights of Ren attack their leader?

maiAt the end of The Rise of Skywalker, when Kylo Ren shows up at the Sith Temple on Exagol, he is attacked by the Knights of Ren. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me for two reasons: Why did they attack their leader? As far as I'm aware, the Knights of Ren serve Kylo Ren, not Emperor Palpatine...

@Marvin They were just so over him. I mean, how would you feel if you pledged to-the-death allegiance to someone who turned out to be such a child? At least when Vader had a tantrum there were bodies.

ThamiarI watched the film twice, and still, I am unsure who was on the audience during battle between Palpatine and Ray+Kylo? Andres F.This question is exclusively about Netflix's The Witcher.
