Q: What does the whole letter in Black Panther by Prince NJobu say?

ClassifiedIn the scene where Killmonger goes to the Ancestral Plane and is back at his apartment when he was a kid, he finds a letter written by his dad, Prince N'Jobu. I paused my DVD to try to read the letter and because of the angle and focus of the camera for the movie, I can only read parts of it and...

Q: I am looking for a book I read in the 70's or 80's. I think the title was "The * mask" but all searches for that have turned up nill

Ron BondThe book was a fantasy book about a group of people working together and at the end you discover that they are all crew mates on a spaceship and the life they were living out was really a virtual reality the ship put them in while they were traveling (cryosleep) or something like that. Does anyo...

Q: Stack Overflow Inc., sinat chinam, and the goat for Azazel

Monica CellioOn Friday, half an hour before Shabbat and two days before Rosh Hashana, Stack Overflow Inc. suddenly revoked my moderator status on all sites where I had it. I found this out while handling flags, when I suddenly got notifications for Marshal and Deputy badges (which moderators are ineligible t...

@Stormblessed Looks like Stack Exchange is down five moderators in the last two days.
@Alex Well three were user51 but yeah...
This shit that happened literally doesn’t make any sense
@Stormblessed I mean five separate moderators.
In total it's like ten sites that have lost a moderator.

Q: Why didn't Snape ask Dumbledore why he let "Moody" search his office?

Jimmy VailerIn Goblet of Fire, Snape says: “You know I’m hiding nothing, Moody,” he said in a soft and dangerous voice, “as you’ve searched my office pretty thoroughly yourself.” Moody’s face twisted into a smile. “Auror’s privilege, Snape. Dumbledore told me to keep an eye —” “Dumbledore...

Q: Sci fi novel, blind tribe in giant caverns who hunt alien bats

DannyMcGThis library Sci Fi book I read in the early eighties, UK, I think it was hardback but not sure. A planet with a massive, miles and miles high, mountain range. The range has a system of gigantic dark caverns that are home to a really horrific looking bat type creature. The bats are the source o...

@Mithrandir Hey, now you have different avatars for different sites. When did you start that?
It's something I had done for a bit for... over a year ago now. About a month ago I decided to do it for all my top sites.

Q: Is there a place where to find examples of questions that should be closed?

BooleanI have recently gone above the 3,000 reputation mark and have hence been given the ability to review closing questions. I have recently missed some key details in how to review and close questions (as shown with this question that I missed), is there a guide or some key examples on SE.stackexchan...

I mean, troll or insane (not in a prejudiced way, but I don't have any other word coming up) person, that's for sure - but rude-edgy?
I flagged it as R/A.
Noted.

Eh, whatever. I VTDed it. It was a borderline R/A, so the hiding is sufficient here IMO

Q: Where did the horse come from?

Eqra KhattakIn the last season, we see that after Kings Landing is turned into ashes and all beings are burnt alive, Arya comes out of the ruins and encounters the most beautiful horse in the seven kingdoms unharmed and unbothered by the stench of blood . How does this happen?

@Jenayah What exactly do you mean by this sentence?
> I'm not thrilled about my writing on the other reasons, so here goes, but I hope someone will be able to edit/provide a fancier explanation:
Well my explanations for duplicate closure/POB etc are kinda vague
At least that's how I felt they were
So it's referring to the subsequent content?

Q: Why is the final chapter of "The Midwich Cuckoos" entitled "Zellaby of Macedon"?

Mike StoneThe final chapter of John Wyndham's The Midwich Cuckoos is entitled "Zellaby of Macedon". Did he ever give any reason for this choice of title? Off the top of my head I can see no obvious connection with the old Kingdom of Macedon,or of its most eminent son, Alexander the Great. Can anyone provid...

Well the writings after that sentence
It is perhaps worded awkwardly.
"on the other reasons" made it sound like it was what you wrote before, and "so here goes" implies that what you are about to write is caused by your above concern when in fact it is despite your above concern.
(If you don't mind my critique...)
No worries
The sentence explaining the writing isn't fancy is unclear itself, that's ironic :P
Feel free to reword.
How do you like it?
13:51
Thanks, it reads better indeed :)

@Alex thanks
@Stormblessed Interesting, I see you have cast 5 votes on Mi Yodeya Meta. MAkes me curious.
@Alex the Purim Torah post about you, an HTTPS thing, that post about Biblical Hermeneutics, and the stuff about Monica from yesterday
So basically what one might expect from me
The one about Biblical Hermeneutics?
This?

Q: Would anyone be interested in helping out Biblical Hermeneutics?

Jon EricsonI'd like to invite you all to look over and hopefully participate in a new StackExchange site: Biblical Hermeneutics. The purpose of the site is to study the Bible on its own terms. We try be be doctrinally neutral (if such a thing is possible). The majority of the text that is on topic for us...

No different one
It was critical of it
Monica's answer there is critical of it.
But that is what one might expect from you?

Q: In the Star Trek: TNG continuity is cloning illegal?

Russ RainfordThe few instances of clones used in the Star Trek series have been seen to have usually negative implications. Added to this is fact of Picard's artificial heart; his original organ was injured in a bar fight while he was in Star Fleet Academy decades before. It was replaced with a bionic organ ...

Well other than that one, yes
I’m very non-religious
Despite my intentions never to join a religious site, I had to because it was paining me that I wasn't able to upvote a question.

@NapoleonWilson When that happens to me with Movies, I choose the pain.
It was unbearable, though.
@NapoleonWilson same, I only joined for that Purim Torah post :P

Q: How many magical entities exist in the world of Bartimaeus?

Fabian RölingIn the Bartimaeus books magical entities are "killed" all the time. This is notably different from just returning to the "other place", they actually stop existing. As far as I know there is no mention of new entities being created in any way ever. So I would assume that their total number only e...

Q: Is there a family friendly release of Star Trek: Discovery?

Vogon PoetThis series was released as TV-MA, however I think the story should be available to a younger audience. One scene when Lorca gets a needle in the eye would probably traumatize a child for life against ever using a pair of binoculars or a microscope. They also have a gratuitous smattering of profa...

Q: Is the current version of Krypto post-Crisis, or New 52?

Russ RainfordThere are various versions of Krypto, just as there are various versions of Superboy. Originally, the Pre-Crisis version was predominately the pet of Clark Kent Superboy. They had been together on Krypton, both as babies. Krypto was used as a test subject on a miniature ship and sent into space...

Q: How exactly does the "body swapping" aspect of time travel work in "Quantum Leap"?

Russ RainfordIn Quantum Leap, Sam's theory of time travel explicitly put forth that one could "travel within their lifetime," but it doesn't explain how he "jumps" into other people's bodies/existences in that time stream. What's more, it's not exactly "them", but Sam "projecting" their appearance. This was...

Q: Who runs the casinos of Canto Bight?

ThunderforgeCanto Bight is a casino city that Finn and Rose visited in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. It's basically the Monte Carlo of the Star Wars universe. Who runs the casinos, and receives the House's take? Are they private individuals? Corporations? The Hutts?

@SQB remember to leave some sort of NSFW warning when linking to Oglaf’s site, even if the specific thing isn’t
Well well, isn't it this year's Bartimaeus trilogy question.
Oh hi @lephe, haven’t seen you in months
Hi! I haven't been there a lot to be honest.
So few questions that I could actually answer /~\
Now is not a great day in the history of SE, but this is still a nice place
@lephe I never thought I’d find a story-ID, but now I have 18
Only two more until bronze tag badge!
Way to go o/

So it’s not as insurmountable as it looks, it’s maybe 99% as much :P
I do stay up-to-date with email notifications for specific tags, but in them only [anime] has actual story-ID questions. I think I miss on most of the activity.
21:57
@Stormblessed Oh wow, I'm actually a quarter of the way to a badge.
22:28
@Stormblessed out of curiosity why'd you make that one Community Wiki?
